Stables are on two sides of the courtyard, and an 18th Century threshing barn and farmhouse are on the other side. The cottage sleeps six people in three bedrooms with two bath/shower rooms. It has an open-plan sitting room with comfortable sofas, television/Freeview/DVD/ video recorder and a hi-fi system. There is a pleasant dining area by a window with stunning views across fields towards the downs. The fitted kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. A washing machine and tumble dryer are also provided.
The cottage has three pretty bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a twin and a double room; a bathroom with a bath and a separate shower, WC and sink. A small spiral staircase leads up to an additional double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with sink and WC. The cottage is warmed by storage heaters and additional electric heaters can be provided. A travel cot and high chair can be made available.
At the rear of the cottage there is a fenced garden with mesmerising open views across fields to Arreton and Mersley Downs. There is an attractive terrace with garden furniture, a lawned area and a barbecue area. A barbecue can be made available free of charge, on request. Two cars can be parked at the rear of the cottage. Access to the cottage is along a bridleway and private lane which is bumpy in places. Nearby places to visit include Amazon Adventure, The Garlic Farm, The Roman Villa, Carisbrooke Castle and Havenstreet Steam Railway. A rural bus service is within a quarter of a mile.
