You can enjoy delightful walks directly from the cottage with footpaths joining the picturesque Bembridge Trail over the downs. The lovely rural village of Newchurch, which has a beautiful church and a good public house The Pointer Inn for meals, is walking distance from the cottage. Borthwood Copse, a great place for seeing red squirrels, is nearby, as is the beautiful Alverstone Mead Nature Reserve. A short drive will take you to the glorious sandy beaches of Sandown and Shanklin. Other beaches can be found at Seaview, St Helens, Bembridge, Ryde (Appley Beach) and Whitecliff. Places to visit include Harvey Browns farm shop, café and restaurant, Amazon World Zoo Park, The Garlic Farm, The Roman Villa and Carisbrooke Castle, or you can take a trip on the steam railway from Havenstreet.

This lovely Grade II listed cottage has been lovingly converted from an 18th century barn. The lounge is light and spacious with comfortable seating, TV/DVD/Video and a hi-fi system, an ideal space in which to unwind. You will also find a small dining area with a view of the downs. Heading into the adjacent kitchen you will find it fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. A washing machine and tumble dryer are also provided. Exploring the ground floor further you will find two of the cottage’s three cosy bedrooms, a double room and a twin room. There is also a bathroom complete with a bath, separate shower and WC. A small spiral staircase leads up to an additional attractive double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom complete with WC. There are internal steps between the kitchen and hall and between the dining area and the sitting room.

At the rear of the cottage there is a lovely, small fenced garden with wonderful open views across the fields to Arreton and Mersley Downs. You can relax on the attractive terrace which has garden furniture, a lawn and a BBQ area. A BBQ can be made available free of charge on request in advance. This pretty cottage is situated on a 12 acre farm with horses, surrounded by beautiful open countryside, and the cottage also overlooks a large open grassy courtyard which is often visited by ducks. Stables are on two sides of the courtyard, and an 18th century threshing barn and farmhouse are on the other side. Two cars can be parked at the rear of the cottage. Please note, access to the cottage is along a bridleway and private lane (mostly tarmac, with a central concreted section which is a little bumpy in places). Access to the cottage car park is via a short section of unmade bumpy track. Alternative parking, close by, is available on request from the owner.

Great cosy cottage stay in an idyllic location. The view from the kitchen/ dining table of horses in the field beyond, and general sense of peace was lovely! A car is needed, and there are spiral stairs and a step between levels, so not for those with limited mobility.

Location really good, lovely places to eat .the access road is poor and a bit of a trek to the Pointer Inn in the village. Cottage is nice but needs a little update. Garden requires a bit of work.

This is a beautiful cottage in a fantastic location with a secure garden for your dog and a gate opening straight out onto a local footpath leading down to a track that runs alongside the river Yarr. A tranquil location and good facilities.

We enjoyed a wonderful relaxing week at the cottage. Its spacious, yet cosy very well appointed. There is ample seating, the sofas are really comfortable- which is what we needed to chill out, and recharge our batteries. Well equipped cottage, with lovely views. Very friendly owner. Very dog friendly, with fully enclosed garden and lovely walks on your doorstep. Good quality bedding and very comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen, and plenty of extra radiators in each room if more heating required. We enjoyed our stay and would love to come back.

While the cottage was lovely the driveway is very poor. This needs looking into urgently - we had to get extra parking elsewhere as one of the cars is low so would have seriously damaged underneath. Thank you.

Nice clean cottage quiet location. Plenty of room and facilities. Disappointing to only be able to access by appalling back track. Not allowed access via front in picture. Also if elderly or mobility issues upstairs area inaccessible and random steps dangerous inside and out. Kev the estate manager very helpful.
