It is a delightful walking area and visitors can follow footpaths over the Downs from close to the cottage. The Paper Barn adjoins Squire Thatchers Barn and sits at the edge of a grassy courtyard which is often adorned by ducks. On the other sides of the courtyard, are the 18th century farmhouse, threshing barn and six stables where horses are kept. The rural village of Newchurch has a great public house The Pointer Inn for meals. The lovely beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor can be found within a 10-20 minute drive. The market town of Newport is within a 15 minute drive. A rural bus service is within a quarter of a mile.

The cottage has two bedrooms - one double, and one twin room, plus a bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. A travel cot and highchair can be provided. Electric heaters keep the cottage warm in colder weather. Heating and electricity are provided free of charge. The cottage has a wireless internet (WiFi).

Really lovely, views are great both front and back and the owners and estate manager are really friendly and helpful. We stayed in Stable Barn last year and Paper Barn this year, and we want to return in October.

This cottage is well off the beaten track and ideal for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of busy lives. The garden is of a reasonable size and secure enough for our not very adventurous Cockapoo. The bathroom is fine but a little tired same with the fridge freezer. Paper Barn was a lovely setting and very cosy and comfortable. I travelled with my 2 year old and 4 year old and at no point did I feel like it wasn't appropriate for young children.

We really loved the cottage. It had everything that you would need and more, a real home from home. We loved the location and the views from both front and back of the property were fantastic. What a lovely cottage. Set in quiet countryside with stunning views from the back, and horses and ducks to watch out at the front, it was perfect for us. The secure, lawned garden was ideal for our dog and the cottage itself was the best equipped of all we have stayed at. Location-wise, not far to get to anywhere - we were very lucky with a week ofRead more sunny weather - our favourites were Ventnor (especially Steephill Cove and the Botanic Gardens) and Cowes. Would happily return in future. Hide
