This charming, Grade II listed cottage, is only a short drive from the sandy beach of Shanklin. It is peacefully situated in a quiet leafy hamlet in beautiful countryside, only 1.5 miles from the centre of the small seaside resort of Shanklin, on the east coast of the Isle of Wight. Shanklin has a lovely sandy beach which gently slopes into the water, a variety of restaurants, small shops and traditional seaside entertainments. The cottage has a lovely large sunny garden and is in a wonderful cycling and walking area. Footpaths and bridleways lead from close to the cottage to the coast at Shanklin and there is a particularly delightful walk across fields and downs to Ventnor offering panoramic views across Sandown Bay. The pretty village of Godshill is within a 5 minute drive and here there is good public house for meals, teashops and a hill top church. This lovely wing of Fowlsdown Farmhouse is completely self contained and offers very attractive accommodation of a high standard. The accommodation is largely open plan with an attractive sitting room area with a sofa, arm chair, flat screen television with freeview; a lovely dining area beside a window; a fitted kitchen with a tiled floor, an electric cooker and hob, microwave, refrigerator and small freezer (24 hour washing service available); a charming bedroom with a king size bed and fitted wardrobe with curtains to separate it from the living area; a well equipped tiled bathroom with a bath, over head shower, basin and WC. At the rear of the cottage is a small sunny fenced courtyard with garden furniture so that meals can be enjoyed outside. The property is within a 5 minute drive of the coastal resort of Shanklin with its lovely sandy beach. The picturesque village of Godshill is also nearby - with its thatched cottages, lovely church, tea shops, public houses and restaurant. This is also a wonderful walking and cycling area. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from 13th April 2018 to 26th April 2018 and 2nd November 2018 to 20th December 2018.

This is a beautiful house and garden with excellent accommodation- a short drive from Shanklin and the beach. It is very well equipped, spacious and attractively decorated. A fabulous house with every home comfort and a generous selection of consumables awaiting us on arrival. The grounds are secluded with sunny terraces, a rippling stream and barbecue facilities. We had an amazing time in the house. It had everything we needed and especially loved the kitchen and the cooker which allowed us to make great meals throughout our stay.
