Get your loved ones together and escape to this stylish period home in a complex of properties just 2 miles outside Newport. Sleeping seven people over three bedrooms, it’s the perfect home away from home for families or groups of friends in search of a characterful stone cottage in a peaceful rural location. Spend glorious days exploring the beaches at Sandown and Seaview, and fun evenings dining alfresco in the property’s charming gazebo.

Step inside and you’ll be greeted with fresh and stylish design features at every turn. The chic kitchen is well equipped with everything you’ll need to cook up some dinner for your loved ones and the welcoming lounge/diner is a great place to get together where there’s plenty of room for everyone to eat together around the dining table. Alternatively, make your way outside to the fully enclosed garden, light up the fire pit BBQ and enjoy an al fresco dinner. As the sun sets you can enjoy a little bit of stargazing or head back indoors to the lounge/diner to relax in front of the electric wood burner-effect fire. At the end of the day, make your way upstairs and you’ll discover that you have a choice of three lovely bedrooms.

Pack up a picnic and head to the beach for the day – you’ll be spoilt for choice with Sandown (7.5 miles), Seaview (10.5 miles) and Ventnor (10 miles) all nearby. Alternatively, spend a glorious afternoon at Carisbrooke Castle (3 miles), where Charles I was once held prisoner, or head into the idyllic village of Godshill (4 miles) to check out its thatched cottages, gift shops and pubs. Or visit Queen Victoria’s impressive Italianate residence at Osborne House (6.5 miles). The gardens sweeping down to the sea are an absolute delight to discover.

Brilliantly equipped and comfortable, really very little to complain about, and great garden space for our little dog to run around in. Location is ideal being central on the island, with supermarket just 3 mins away. Would gladly stay again.

Nice property and good location. Parking for two cars is only possible when no one is in the holiday property next door, otherwise its a lot of shunting or reversing down the drive.

We had a fantastic week at Quaintways. Beautiful cottage and perfect for my 2 dogs with a secure garden. Location is great to see the whole island and the local pub was great for evening meals.

The cottage is well located, its central to IOW and easy to get to all corners. The owner was easy to reach so that was very helpful. The cottage was a good space, well equipped, and had a lovely garden to relax in. We wouldn't say the cottage is currently 4* however and it felt like 3* due to aspects such as dirty wall marks and paint peeling off Read morebottom of stairs, several windows not opening, 2 beds constantly creeking, a lumpy mattress, and a bit of upkeep needed etc. Good overall though!
