This gorgeous barn conversion in Godshill offers bright accommodation in a picturesque rural setting with plenty of walks and trails for exploring the stunning countryside.

This lovely stone cottage was originally a large and ancient stone barn at Sainham Farm. It is situated in the attractive courtyard and has marvellous open views from the rear across the fields to the downs. The cottage is in one of the loveliest parts of the Island, lying at the foot of Appuldurcombe Down and above the picturesque village of Godshill in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Godshill can be reached by taking a pleasant ten-minute stroll through the beech copse and across the fields. The village has a variety of tea shops and restaurants, as well as two great public houses. This is a wonderful walking area. Footpaths lead from the farm to Appuldurcombe and join the extensive Stenbury Trail to the coast at Ventnor. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are only a ten-minute drive away.

Stag Cottage has been skilfully designed to provide spacious accommodation with unforgettable rural views. It has been furnished and equipped with care in a modern style. The front door opens into a beautiful hallway with a central staircase ascending to a gallery that leads to three bedrooms. There is a lovely double room with en-suite bathroom offering a hand shower and WC, a twin room and a bedroom with a triple sleeper bunk bed suitable for two adults and a child sleeping above, or just two children. A travel cot and high chair are available. There is also a separate shower room with a built in shower and WC.

On the ground floor there is a sitting room comfortably furnished with sofas and a television with Freeview and a DVD player. WiFi internet is provided at the cottage. The modern fitted kitchen is equipped to a high standard with a range style Esse cooker, electric hob, separate electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer. There is an attractive dining area by the window. A cloakroom with W.C is also on the ground floor. The cottage is centrally heated and all heating and electricity is at no extra charge.

Guests have access to a lovely fenced garden at the rear of the cottage where they can relax and enjoy the open views. Garden furniture is provided. Cars can be parked close to the cottage. A regular bus service and shop is within a ten-minute walk. Beautiful carpets of bluebells can be a joy to see in nearby woodland in late April and early May.

A well planned property set in a beautiful setting of converted barns and farm buildings. Everything was better than expected and the location was really good being only a few minutes walk to the picturesque village of Godshill via country lane or bridlepath. The spacious entrance hall and atrium was very light and an excellent space with central sRead moretaircases rising to a first floor balcony which served the 3 bedrooms and bathrooms. Downstairs lounge and kitchen/diner were more than adequate. Hide

We found the cottage lovely, clean and spacious and very quiet and peaceful. The location in Godsill was, for us, perfect, not being too far to walk into Godsill or indeed to travel to other parts of the island...

A fantastic cottage. Well equipped, excellent kitchen, hot water supply/central heating and you can tell the owners have put a lot of thought into their guest's experience in many ways. Super folder of information which was really well done, invaluable. Great location, lovely views, and GREAT that no pets allowed.
