Ideally situated close to three beautiful sandy beaches, this light and spacious cottage is an ideal holiday home for enjoying a fantastic family holiday in a beautiful part of the Isle of Wight.

This detached New England style house is within a seven-minute walk of two lovely beaches - the quiet sandy Priory Bay Beach and Seagrove Bay, with its variety of sand, rock pools and boating. This is a beautiful coastal area and the nearby coast path can be followed to St Helens and onwards to Bembridge. Alternatively, visitors can walk along the seafront of Seaview into Ryde; a seaside resort with traditional seaside entertainments, plus a swimming pool and bowling alley. The Priory Bay Hotel, with its excellent restaurant and cream teas is within a 10-minute walk, and the shops and restaurants at the centre of Seaview village are within a 25-minute walk.

Iona is situated in a lane on the outskirts of Seaview. In recent years it has been architecturally redesigned to provide spacious accommodation for eight people in a light and modern environment. It is centrally heated and double glazed. On the ground floor there is an attractive entrance hall which opens into a large open plan sitting room with leather sofas, a wall mounted television with Freeview; a separate fitted kitchen with electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine and breakfast bar; a dining area, with a large table and chairs and patio doors opening on to the terrace; a second sitting room with a corner sofa, TV with Freeview and a DVD player; a double bedroom with French doors opening into the garden and an en-suite shower room with built in shower, basin and WC; a separate cloakroom with WC with basin.

An American Oak staircase winds up from the sitting room to three more spacious bedrooms; one twin room; a double room and the master bedroom with a king-size bed, television and en-suite shower room with built in shower, basin and WC, a dressing area, and small mezzanine with desk and HiFi system. There is also a tiled family bathroom with a corner bath, built in shower basin and WC. A folding bed can be made available in one of the double bedrooms so that two children can sleep separately; a travel cot and high chair can also be provided. WiFi internet is available.

There is a lovely fenced and gated garden at the rear of Iona. Immediately adjacent to the house is a terrace with garden furniture and a gas barbecue so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine. Five steps ascend to a large lawn with additional garden furniture. (Please be aware that there is a three foot drop between the lawn and the terrace. Children do therefore need to be closely supervised at all times). At the front of the property there is a large drive and area of garden. Here, four cars can be accommodated. There is covered storage for bikes. Within five minutes walk is a bus service, public house and general stores. There is a large supermarket and shopping centre in Ryde - ten minutes drive. Nearby places to visit include Havenstreet Steam Railway, Robin Hill Adventure Park and Osborne House - the island home of Queen Victoria.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £200 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Less than 1 mile from the sandy stretch of Priory Beach and 1.5 miles to the more popular beach at Seaview, you're all set for seaside fun on your beach break. Don't forget the bucket and spade and rest assured, the water here is calm and safe for swimming. Priory Beach is backed by National Trust woodland that's also excellent for young explorers. Surrounding the property is the typically British village of Nettlestone, which offers a handful of local shops and a food serving pub just 0.5 miles away. You can also head 1.5 miles out to the seaside resort of Seaview, one of the island's most popular tourist spots and the perfect place for grabbing some freshly caught seafood at an independent eatery before enjoying a walk along the coast. For a trip a little further south, the National Trust area of St Helens Duver (2 miles) offers you the chance to go rock pooling, walk along impressive coastal cliffs and even check out an ancient church ground.

A very spacious cottage with plenty of room for a large group, and the added bonus of three bathrooms and a separate toilet. Large well-equipped kitchen. Some excellent walks from the cottage but very muddy in winter.

Good location just on the outskirts of Seaview. Being able to walk down to the beach with young children and grandparents was a big bonus, even if it was uphill on the way back! Nice not to have to get in the car each time. Big bonus having a downstairs bedroom and bathroom for elderly mother and it was shut off from kitchen/dining area so nice andRead more quiet too. There were nice touches for young children too. Cutlery, cups and plates. Selection of toys and a good stair gate. Hide
