A unique holiday retreat in Studland on the Purbeck Peninsula, this impressive abode makes an outstanding base for exploring Dorset and spending time with your nearest and dearest. Sleeping nine guests, the five-bedroom property is 0.5 miles from the South Beach at Studland, and the start of the 4-mile stretch of National Trust Land that runs along the bay. Enjoy walks through the healthland behind the bay where there is a wealth of wildlife, including deer. Pick up the South West Coast Path here as well as, choosing to walk the 5-mile section to Swanage perhaps. Plan a day trip into Swanage, 3.5 miles by car, to dine out, browse in the shops and spend time on its sandy beach.

Enter the three-storey property to find accommodation that combines original character and period features with more contemporary spaces. The stylish kitchen has everything you need to help you cater for your group and there is a long table for dining at. The lounge, with a wooden floor, comfortable seating and wood burner for chilly evenings is also at this level and features another TV and DVD player for alternative viewing. One of the bedrooms, arranged as a super-king - can also be made into twin beds, is also on this floor. Four more bedrooms are on the first floor of the house. These include a super-king, with en-suite shower room and Juliet balcony and sea views, a king-size with sea views, a twin and a single. There is also a family bathroom on the first floor.

There is a good-sized lawned garden at the house, with seating areas and a BBQ for outside dining and enjoying the views. At ground-floor-level the house opens on to a large sun deck, with furniture for reclining on and enjoying a drink out in the fresh air.

The website said that cottage owners are not expected to provide any self catering supplies, but might. So I took everything. To my amazement we not only had a welcome pack, but just about everything you might need! A lovely cosy house, thoughfully equpped and coordinated, it looks as though the owners have really enjoyed pulling it all together, tRead morehought through what a large party mught need and even sourced a period piece of furniture for each room. My family loved the spaces and the pool table (child's cue provided). We loved the views and the owls. We watched the sun rise from our bedroom and sat outside on the decking for coffee in November - the garden has bbq and seating for the summer. We had local friends visit and they were all blown away by the house. One is even considering it for their family holiday next year. Hide

Just had a week at this lovely house with 3 generations and an elderly dog. plenty of space for everyone and very well equipped especially the kitchen. there was even dog bed and bowls. Lovely welcome basket. we used the pool table and outside balcony , with stunning view, a lot.Beds were really comfortable and rooms had lots of storage space. greaRead moret location for walking to beach, pub, shop. bus stop just outside the house. the main road runs past the house but wasn't too busy or noisy for us. The stairs down to the basement were too steep for our elderly dog so we kept her upstairs but there is also access from the garden if needed. we would definitely love to come back. thank you Hide

Our third Summer stay at this lovely property. It is ideal for a multi generational family, plenty of space and lots of facilities, including games room with pool table. We particularly like the fact that everyone has their own bathroom, which seems difficult to find when looking for a holiday let for 6 adults and 2 children. The views are spectacular and we like how dog friendly it is ( Teddy our cavapoo enjoyed himself enormously ) The large TV room , modern walk in showers and Edwardian features are all great., and added to our enjoyment. This is probably our 10th stay in Studland, and we very much hope to be back.
