The Granary is a charming cottage which has been carefully converted from the wing of a large, ancient barn dating back to the 17th Century - Ningwood Green Barn. It is nestled in peaceful West Wight countryside. This is a fantastic walking area with the coastal path nearby. Within walking distance of the cottage is also the Newtown Harbour and Estuary - a National Nature Reserve renowned for its range of important habitats for birds.

The Granary is attached to the owners home and is a secluded property which has been equipped and furnished with the greatest care to a high standard. It provides accommodation with the feeling of luxury for four people. There is a modern, fully fitted kitchen equipped with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer, plus a separate dining area. The sitting room provides a lovely place to relax with a leather sofa and chairs, television with Freeview and DVD player, and stereo system. There are two charming bedrooms - one double and one twin. The modern bathroom has a electric power shower, basin and WC. Storage heaters with combined convectors keep the cottage warm. WiFi internet is available.

The cottage has a secluded, fenced garden which is favoured by a variety of birds including Woodpeckers and Yellow Hammers. Garden furniture is provided. The pretty village of Shalfleet is nearby and there is a pleasant public house within a ten-minute walk. A range of great restaurants and shops are in the nearby coastal town of Yarmouth, a popular sailing centre, and sandy beaches are only five minutes drive away. A complimentary welcome hamper is provided. There is a parking space for two cars close to the cottage. A regular bus service is within five minutes walk, and the Granary is near the Island Cycle Route.

Weve stayed for a week in this lovely cottage (used to be the granary). Our hosts were very warm and welcoming and gave us tips about what to see and do on the isle of Wight. Our second stay in Granary cottage and we like it as it is very well equipped especially if you like to do some cooking. It is in a lovely location and easy to get everywhere on the island. The hosts are lovely and very accommodating. I am sure we will return.

Easy distance from Yarmouth ferry. Good location to go anywhere in the island. Lovely cottage with everything you need when away from home. Private with lovely gardens. Easy parking available. Hosts were available if anything was needed, which it wasn't, super friendly and made us feel right at home.

Fabulously spacious and comfortable cottage, and really welcoming hosts who are happy to share their extensive local knowledge if you want to ideas for eating out/things to do/places to go. The location is quiet and beautiful, with great bus links to the rest of the island - stops just over the road (fab since parking charges are very high in YarmoRead moreuth!). Village shop open every day till 7.00pm (or 1.00 on Sunday) and a pub with great food - both 5 mins away. Hide

Our second visit to the Granary and it never disappoints. The cottage is so comfortable and well equipped. It wants for nothing. Love the private secluded garden. Barry and Owen the perfect hosts. Respect your privacy but there if you need them. Would recommend.
