This cottage is situated in a quiet country lane on the outskirts of Godshill; it was originally the milking parlour of Lower Yard Farm. Nearby you also have a riding school which is within one mile of the property. Here, you are in blissful countryside and there are attractive walks directly from the cottage. The centre of the picturesque village of Godshill, with its pretty thatched cottages, restaurants and tea shops is only three quarters of a mile away. The market town of Newport, with its collection of shops and medieval castle is within a five-minute drive. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are all within a 15-minute drive.
Milk Parlour Cottage is built of Island stone and is thought to date back to the 1700s. It adjoins The Hayloft, and has in recent years been completely renovated. It has been furnished and equipped in a traditional style to a high standard with fitted carpets, central heating and a plentiful supply of hot water. It provides comfortable accommodation which is all on one level for three people in two bedrooms. There is a welcoming sitting room, furnished with comfortable sofas, a flat screen television; a well-equipped kitchen with fitted units, an electric oven and hob, microwave, Lavazza coffee machine and small fridge/freezer; a modern bathroom with walk-in shower, basin and WC, two cosy bedrooms - one double room and one single room. A travel cot and high chair can be provided. There is a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer in a nearby utility room, use of which is shared with visitors of the adjoining cottage the Hayloft. Heating, electricity and WiFi are provided at no extra charge.
There is a walled garden with a lawn and shrubs at the rear of the cottage, and also an attractive fenced garden at the front with a lawn, shrubs and bird table. Red squirrels and a variety of birds are frequent visitors. Garden furniture is provided so that meals can be enjoyed outside. There is parking for two cars beside the cottage. A regular bus service to Shanklin and Newport is within a five-minutes walk and from here, most parts of the Island can be reached. There is a public house within a mile, and general stores within three quarters of a mile. Nearby places to visit include Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Amazon Adventure Park and Osborne House - the island home of Queen Victoria.
