This charming detached stone cottage is beautifully situated overlooking the sea on the southern tip of the Island, within a five-minute walk of St Catherine's Lighthouse. It is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in a peaceful hamlet. This is a fantastic walking area with the coastal path heading westwards along a dramatic and unspoilt area of coastline all the way to the Needles. Alternatively, visitors may enjoy downland walks or following the course of the River Yar from Niton to Bembridge. The seaside resort of Ventnor is within a ten-minute drive and there is easy access to a number of sandy bays on the west side of the island. The renowned Buddle Inn is within a few minutes walk of the cottage and a ten-minute stroll brings you to the main village of Niton where there is a general store, post office and another public house.

St Catherine's Cottage has been in the same family for three generations and enjoys an exceptional position with views across the picturesque garden to the sea. There are sea views from several of the rooms including the sitting room, dining room and two main bedrooms. It is an idyllic location in which to relax watching the sailing boats pass by, and sensational for such events as the Round the Island Race in June. The cottage has been furnished and equipped with care and provides charming accommodation for six people in three bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a fitted kitchen equipped with an electric cooker and induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and filter coffee machine. A washing machine and tumble dryer are available in a separate utility area. There is an attractive sitting room with a comfortable sofa and chairs and a Smart TV with Bluetooth speakers plus a pleasant separate dining room.

Stairs lead up to three bedrooms; a spacious double room with a king-size bed and sea views and two twin rooms, one of which also enjoys sea views. There is a bathroom with a bath with hand held shower attachment, basin and WC. and a separate shower room with a built in shower, basin and WC. The cottage is warmed with wall mounted electric radiators. A travel cot and high chair can be made available.

The cottage has a secluded, peaceful garden which is south facing. There is a patio area immediately outside the cottage with garden furniture so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine. The garden has areas of lawn, well established shrubberies and at the far end there is a seating area with views across the fields to the sea, with the wonderful aspect of St Catherine's lighthouse to one side. Wildlife can often be seen in the garden including red squirrels and badgers. Cars can be parked in the quiet road outside of the property. Twelve steps lead down to the cottage entrance. This cottage must be one of the best to stay in for a holiday on the Isle of Wight. Its spotlessly clean, comfortable and with a warm and welcoming feel to it. Its location is stunning with a delightful garden and outstanding sea views. Lovely walks to the lighthouse and National Trust land from the door.

This is the second time we have stayed at St Catherine's Cottage, and we enjoyed it as much as the first time! Impeccably clean, amazing location (cannot get enough of the garden and sea views), nice walks suitable for dogs from the property. We will stay again.
