This quaint cottage is attractively situated within a ten-minute stroll of the beach of Ventnor or the quiet cove of Steephill on the south coast of the Island. Ventnor Park is at the rear of the cottage and paths lead through these gardens to the Esplanade. These gardens also adjoin the Botanical Garden of Ventnor which is renowned for its rare plants and the mild climate. The Clock House is one of a small group of cottages which have been converted from the original stables of Steephill Castle.

This is a spacious one bedroom cottage which has been furnished and equipped with great care. It is centrally heated and the accommodation is all on the ground floor. There is an exceptionally large double bedroom with an attractive beamed ceiling. A door leads from the bedroom into a Victorian conservatory with a tiled floor, and French doors lead from here into the garden. There is a spacious bathroom with a deep Victorian bath with ball and claw feet, a built in shower, sink and WC, plus a dressing room area with wardrobes.

The cottage has an open plan kitchen and dining area with a stunning bay window, with leaded lights and comfortable seating. The kitchen boasts a large pine dresser and is equipped with a gas cooker, microwave, refrigerator with freezer section and washing machine. There is a welcoming sitting room where visitors can relax on sofas in front of an open fire during colder weather. This room also has a flat screen television.

French doors open onto a south-facing walled garden, complete with garden furniture at the rear of the cottage. There is a private, gated courtyard at the front of the cottages and two cars can be parked beside The Clock House. Shops, restaurants and a public house are within a ten-minute walk. Public transport is a three-minute walk away from the cottage.

New bed, all doors need to open, especially to the garden, and inner doors, need to open and close easily I would recommend this cottage on the understanding that certain issues were addressed.

A very nice and quirky place, but I also have to mention the lack of a door between the kitchen and bedroom that others have recently mentioned. But luckily there was room divider tuckd away in the corner of the kitchen (hiding the ironing board and cleaning materials) that we re-purposed. I also have to mention the poor wifi (not speed but generalRead more connectivity), bathroom door that can close and then cannot be opened from the inside! And a Velux window in the bedroom that had no blind. Hide

A lovely holiday cottage, surprisingly spacious and despite its age and rustic character it was warm, comfortable, immaculate and equipped with all the necessary facilities. The walled garden and the conservatory were a big plus. A very enjoyable week. Thankyou

A facinating old property in a wonderful location which was very quiet and private. There is a lot of living space for a 1 bed cottage and its only 10 mins walk through the Park to the Esplanade. The cottage is clean and well equipped. There is no door between the kitchen and bedroom which wont be to everyones taste. The main negative for us was thRead moreat all of the bedding and soft furnishings are feather and fur which is not great for allergy sufferers looking for a property that doesnt allow pets. Hide

A delightful cottage, with private parking (easy) and WIFI. A very pleasant conservatory and entirely private walled garden. Perfect for 2! Bus stop almost on doorstep.
