Property code: OC-IC004

Apple Tree Lodge is situated within three minutes of Shanklin's golden beach where the sand gently slopes to the sea - ideal for paddling and swimming. On the sea front there is a variety of entertainment including a children's play park. It is only a two-minute walk from the lodge to the cliff path for beautiful views across Sandown Bay to the white cliff of Culver. Shanklin is a quaint resort with a collection of interesting shops and restaurants. The Old Village of Shanklin has pretty thatched cottages, tea shops and public houses, plus a beautiful chine.

The lodge has been decorated with care to provide fresh and comfortable accommodation for four people. On the ground floor there is a spacious sitting room with windows to the front and rear - furnished with comfortable sofas, a television and DVD player; a pleasant dining area by the front window which overlooks the garden; a fitted kitchen equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher, plus a breakfast area; a small utility area with a washing machine and small work top freezer; a cloakroom with W.C and basin.

Stairs lead up to two bedrooms; one double and one twin room. There is also a fully tiled bathroom with a bath, separate built in shower, basin and WC. The lodge is centrally heated and double glazed.  A wooden cot and high chair is available. WiFi internet is available.

Apple Tree Lodge is one of two adjoining properties and it has a pleasant, sunny garden at the front and side with lawns and shrubs. The side lawn is attractively fenced with a small gate opening into the front garden - furniture and a barbecue are provided. In the evening visitors can relax in the garden watching the sun set over the downs beyond the town.

The quickest route from the lodge to the beach involves a two-minute walk and a lift ride from the cliff top to the esplanade. (Open Easter to late October). Alternatively, visitors can walk directly to the beach in about five minutes. One car can be parked in the drive and additional cars can be parked in nearby roads subject to availability. There is a regular bus service available from a convenient stop next to the cottage including the number 22, Shanklin Shuttle and Island Coaster buses. A train service is 0.4 miles away.

Apple Tree Lodge is a lovely warm and spacious house with everything you need. Perfect location for the beach and for visiting all the attractions of the island ( Shanklin Theatre, The Needles, Osborne House, Donkey Sanctuary and the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary to name just a few). Will definitely be coming back.

The cottage was absolutely excellent, great location for the local shops, the old town and a 5-10 minute walk to the beach. So clean and spacious. We very much enjoyed our stay and will be recommending to friends and family if they want to stay on the Isle of Wight. All of the rooms were a great size. There were only 2 of us staying here but the coRead morettage would be more than comfortable for 4 people staying. Off-road parking was also a great bonus. Hide

A great house, very well equipped and decorated. Both comfortable and practical. The location is perfect for the cliff path, cliff lift to Shanklin esplanade, and the local shops. The owners were both friendly and helpful, going out of their way to ensure we were happy. Overall, a highly enjoyable stay and experience.

A very comfortable, clean, homely and well equipped cottage, really close to the seafront. We had a wonderful holiday walking the coastal paths. Great bus service if you wanted to leave the car at the cottage. We did some amazing walks and returned on the bus.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house was ideal, clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Plenty of storage space for items in the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. We were ideally situated to walk to the beach and town. It is good to have the off-road parking space too. As we had lovely weather, it was good to have the garRead moreden to sit in. Carol and Terry are friendly and helpful hosts. Hide

A most satisfactory and comfortable house. It is difficult to cook, however, as there are no basic cooking supplies.
