Our first time at this cottage. It wont be the last. The cottage(1 of 2) is well-situated, in the heart of the countryside, but not far from anywhere in the central or eastern area. Even the needles(west area) is only about a 35 minute drive! The cottage was very well equipped, the hosts had kindly supplied logs/kindling etc for the wood-burner witRead moreh a generous supply of wood. Additional wood was available in the porch for a small additional fee. We found it to be cosy, comfortable and very well equipped. It was nice to have a summerhouse available too for those slightly cooler days. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at 2 Dores Hill Cottage and would recommend it to anyone. We will be back. Hide

Lovely cottage perfect for seeing the island. Everything you need and the summer house is a great bonus. Welcomed with provisions and a very tasty homemade cake. Excellent quality sheets and towels. There is a very nice dairy farm a few minutes drive away which does an excellent breakfast and has a good farm shop. Highly recommended

We had a lovely, winter holiday at Dores Hill. The cottage is extremely cosy and quiet, well away from the bustle of Christmas! Everything is provided for a relaxing and peaceful stay in a convenient and yet rural part of the island.

Very comfortable and homely base for days out to the islands attractions. Welcoming and well equipped. Could do with a new, larger TV for the rainy days, but that didn't retract from the overall satisfaction. Definitely book again one day.

The perfect definition of a country holiday cottage. Cosy and clean with a traditional look, but including all mod cons. The summerhouse was handy for reading and relaxing on the odd rainy day, and the outside seating areas were generous. Great views across the Solent too.

The cottage is well equipped, and very comfortable. The garden was lovely and very well maintained, there was a super summer house in the garden for the exclusive use of cottage no2. The internet connection was very good, we've stayed at cottages where the internet was a bit patchy. We met John and he was very friendly and welcoming. Anne had bakedRead more a delicious cake, and there was local milk and butter in the fridge. The location of the cottage was super. It appeared to be near everything. Hide
