Ava Lodge is a beautifully presented and well equipped lodge. It had everything and more you could have wanted for a dog family for the week. It was centrally located to Sandown, Shanklin, Bembridge and Ryde. Not much further to Newport, Godshill etc. lots of dog friendly places within a good driving distance. 10 minutes drive to a Tescos extra. ThRead moree lodge had some nice touches like the hot tub, washing machine, full equipped kitchen with everything you can think of. Washing up liquid, hand soaps at all sinks, dishwasher tablets, cloths and tea towels. For the dog there was a bed, towel, blanket, bowl and mat. Lots of swim towels to use and Airer. The whole place was beautiful and clean with high quality furnishings. The view was what topped it for me personally. Sitting outside in the morning with a cuppa looking at the view over Sandown or with a glass of wine from the hot tub it was just so perfect. Finally the communication with the owners ( Loren and Mark) was very good. Nothing was too much trouble. Hide

Ava Lodge has been very stylishly designed and decorated, whilst still being really comfortable and relaxing. The surroundings are peaceful and serene, and the owners have plans to add things that will make it even more appealing with work being done on the grounds. The kitchen is well equipped. There are so many nice little touches. The bed is as Read moreincredibly comfortable and brilliant water pressure for the showers. It took us a little bit of time to get the hang of the hot tub and getting this up to the right temperature. The owners live on the same land, so they are around and very quick to respond to any requests (you can buy wood and kindling from them for the hot tub). There are lots of things to do, as nowhere is very far away. We loved Yaverland beach for daily dog walks. When we were there we needed to book pubs/restaurants, so its worth planning ahead. Hide

We had a relaxing stay at Ava Lodge. It is modern, clean and airy, with high ceilings and large windows overlooking fields and the sea - we enjoyed spotting boats and local wildlife. It felt spacious for six of us, with a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and enough bathrooms to make things easy. The setting feels nicely tucked away with uRead moreninterrupted views to the front. Parking is a short walk from the lodge rather than directly beside it, which is helpful to know when arriving. The wood-fired eco hot tub is a lovely feature, but it does take time and effort to heat, particularly in colder months, so its worth bearing in mind that its a little different from a typical hot tub. A fun touch was the local photography in the lodge - we enjoyed visiting some of the featured spots during our stay. Overall, a peaceful, airy place with plenty of space for families looking to unwind. Hide
