This lovely stone cottage was originally a large and ancient stone barn at Sainham Farm. It is situated in the attractive courtyard and has marvellous open views from the rear across the fields to the downs. The cottage is in one of the loveliest parts of the Island, lying at the foot of Appuldurcombe Down and above the picturesque village of Godshill in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Godshill can be reached by taking a pleasant ten-minute stroll through the beech copse and across the fields. The village has a variety of tea shops and restaurants, as well as two great public houses. This is a wonderful walking area. Footpaths lead from the farm to Appuldurcombe and join the extensive Stenbury Trail to the coast at Ventnor. The stunning sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are under a twenty-minute drive away.

Stag Cottage has been skilfully designed to provide spacious accommodation with unforgettable rural views. It has been furnished and equipped with care in a modern style. The front door opens into a beautifully striking hallway with a central staircase ascending to a gallery that leads to two double bedrooms and a cosy reading room. The first double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom offering a hand shower and WC and both double bedrooms have electric blankets. A travel cot and high chair are available. There is also a separate shower room with a built in shower and WC.

On the ground floor there is a sitting room comfortably furnished with sofas, a fireplace with electric coal effect heater and a wall mounted television with Freeview and a DVD player. WiFi internet is provided at the cottage. The modern fitted kitchen is equipped to a high standard with an electric range cooker, electric 2 ring hob, separate electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer. There is an attractive dining area by the window with a table and chairs for the whole group. A cloakroom with WC is also on the ground floor. The cottage is centrally heated and all heating and electricity is at no extra charge.

Guests have access to a lovely fenced garden at the rear of the cottage where they can relax and enjoy the open views. This is accessed around the side of the cottage and garden furniture is provided. Cars can be parked close to the cottage. A regular bus service and shop is within a ten-minute walk. For dog owners in particular. There is no direct access from the property into the enclosed garden. You have to go out of the front door and walk to the rear of the property to your secure garden.

A lovely cottage in good location with great views. There were a few issues but nothing that spoilt the holiday and could be easily rectified. Not much cupboard space to put food as all full with crockery and cooking utensils. A lovely place to stay. Quiet and a good position.
