With room for large families or groups of friends, this reverse-level townhouse is in a great location for exploring the whole of the Isle of Wight, leaving the car at home if you wish. Opposite the property is the Floating Bridge, which takes vehicles, bikes and foot passengers across to East Cowes seven days a week, all year round. It saves an 11-mile round trip by road and means that Osborne House – Queen Victoria’s holiday home – is just 2 miles away. A great day out with children, the popular Robin Hill adventure park is 7.5 miles away, while Blackgang Chine, another family theme park, is 14.5 miles away. Fancy a stroll on the beach or a day of sandcastle building? Tiny Cowes Beach is only 1 mile away, while family-friendly and sandy Ryde Beach is 10 miles away. For water sports and dinghy sailing, Bembridge Beach is 14 miles away.
From the main door, head through a small courtyard to find your front door, and leave coats and shoes in the porch. The kitchen/diner is designed around a central table, a lovely spot to gather, and includes everything the cook will need to prepare yummy meals during your holiday. There are three bedrooms to the right, two king-size and one with two single bunk beds, all with wooden floorboards and pale walls. Two shower rooms and a separate WC complete this level. One floor up, you’ll find the lounge has a Juliet balcony overlooking the water and, inside, offers plenty of space in which to curl up and enjoy relaxing with a book or a favourite show on the Smart TV. The top floor, with sloping ceilings and areas of restricted height, includes a twin room that’s ideal for little ones, a bathroom, and a cute snug – which they could use as a playroom – with a futon bed and Smart TV.
The shingled garden area is right next to the water and is enclosed with a post-and-rail fence (with wide gaps). Spend sunny days grilling something delicious on the BBQ here, or simply relax and enjoy the gorgeous river views. Parking is on-street or in a public car park behind the property.
