Property code: OC-WY559

Located on a working farm just a mile from Swanage Bay, this converted barn, perfect for families, has three bedrooms and two bathrooms spread across two floors. Children can play safely in the enclosed garden, and there’s convenient private parking for two cars.

At the heart of this rural retreat, the open-plan living space has, at one end, comfortable sofas arranged around a Smart TV and feature fireplace. Behind, the Shaker-style kitchen contains all the must-haves of home; cook up a feast then gather at the nearby dining suite which sits before bi-fold doors onto the garden. When it’s time to sleep, the bedrooms will suit any party of six. A family bathroom and the master bedroom are on the ground floor – for flexibility, the super-king-size bed can be converted to a twin on request. Upstairs, the king-size bedroom has an exposed stone wall while the other room has bunk beds suitable for children. Both have sloping ceilings, Velux windows, and share use of a sleek shower room. Step through those bi-fold doors from the dining area; the secluded garden has patio and lawned areas with dining furniture and loungers so you can eat, drink and soak up the sun in comfort. There’s also a sheltered sitting area.

The golden arc of Swanage Bay is just a mile away; enjoy a day on the sloping sands or stroll to the historic pier, stopping for ice creams along the way. Take a journey back in time aboard the Swanage Railway which operates steam and diesel passenger trains from the coast to Corfe Castle (5.5 miles), or visit Studland Bay (5.5 miles) with its stack of chalk known as ‘Old Harry’. Continue a mile further and you can take the ferry to Poole and Bournemouth, where there are plenty more family attractions.

Be aware of dangerous roundabout offering no footpath for 250-300 yards if you want to walk the 20 minutes into Swanage. Well positioned for all attractions and walks that make this area so worth a visit. If the owner adheres to recommendations made, this could be a great property.

The cottage was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Access and parking was brilliant. The 15 minute walk to the beach was a plus. The only thing I would suggest is that the outside patio area be power washed and tidied.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Russ was so welcoming and available throughout if we had any query. The Barn has been converted to a very high standard and was exceptionally comfortable. We will certainly be returning as there is so much to explore in the locality, we left definitely wanting more!

Really lovely comfortable and quiet cottage. There was a welcome food basket. Everything we needed to make our stay easy was there. Well equipped kitchen, comfy beds. Space for clothes and bags, as well as a shoe rack and coat hooks. Sheltered outdoor space for those wet clothes days. [luckily we didn't need it]. Great having 2 bathrooms. Lots of bRead moreeautiful places within easy distance and didn't have to drive through Swanage to get to them. Bus 50 250 yrds along the lane takes you to Studland, ferry to Sandbanks, dropped off and ferry to Brownsea Island..brilliant. Also recommend the Pier Head [may be closed for Winter]. If I come this way again would look to return to stay. Hide
