A charming, former quarryman’s cottage, this stone retreat is the perfect place for a Dorset get-away. Sleeping four guests, and providing dog-friendly accommodation, the two-bedroom property is on the outskirts of Swanage, in an area with a village-like feel, and yet only 1 mile from the vibrant heart of the town, with its shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The seafront and sandy beach are also here, offering fun for all the family. Take the opportunity to head out of town too, to explore the scenic Purbeck Peninsula. Plan a day trip to Lulworth Cove, 14.5 miles away, where you can swim in the sea, snorkel and enjoy the magnificent views. Durdle Door, with its limestone arch, is 15 miles away.
Make your way into the cottage to find accommodation with character but also lots of different levels that may not be suitable for those with limited mobility, as well as small children. There is a ground-floor lounge, which has exposed, Purbeck stone walls and comfortable seating to relax on as you watch TV or play games together. This leads through to an open-plan kitchen/diner, with everything you need to whip up homecooked meals, as well as a table for dining at together. The family bathroom, with a roll-top bath, is also on the ground floor. A steep wooden staircase leads up to a second lounge, with more comfortable seating and another TV for alterative viewing, as well as bi-folding doors out on to a decked area. A king-size bedroom, with wonderful views across Swanage, is also at this level, while an attic room, with twin beds, another TV and a games console is on the second floor.
The garden is accessed from the first-floor lounge and includes a sun deck for outside dining during the warmer months. More fabulous seating can be found following along a leaf path in the garden area, perfect for enjoying the summer air.
