A family-friendly retreat in the heart of Swanage, this quirky property is close to the action yet delightfully cosy for spending quality time together. Your party of eight will soon be exploring beautiful Swanage in all its glory, delving into the boutique shops and sampling delicious local fare in one of the pubs, cafes or restaurants. The nearby beach is an enchanting combination of golden sand and azure sea, perfect for beach games and playing in the waves. In terms of local attractions, Swanage exudes nostalgia with its steam railway, Victorian pier and attractive esplanade, but there are lots of opportunities for water sports if you can’t resist an adrenalin rush. The beach is also a popular destination for scuba diving due to its excellent water quality, so it is a great chance to try something new.

Overlooking the pub, the property may be next to the hustle and the bustle, but this makes it a great base for exploring. Inside, the stylish decor blends with original features such as the occasional beam, stone walls and matching flooring. You’ll find surprises at every turn, taking care as you navigate various steps in search of the comfortable lounge, with an ornamental fire. At mealtimes, the compact kitchen space has everything you need to prepare your favourite dishes, and there is a dining area for gathering the family for meals. Every nook has been put to good use with clever storage and thoughtfully placed furniture. The best example of this is on the third floor, where one of the bedrooms has been transformed into a cosy sanctuary with unusual triple bunk beds. There are four bedrooms in total including another bunk bedroom and two king-size bedrooms. Completing the property is an elegant family bathroom and a wet room.

Outside, the courtyard garden is ideal for relaxing on sunny afternoons with a drink in hand. You’ll also have a BBQ for al fresco suppers.

A nice traditional Purbeck cottage with stone and tiles on the ground floor. The accommodation is spread over three floors, which keeps you fit. A fare sized kitchen with plenty of cutlery and crockery as well as cookware. The Range is a benefit when cooking in quantity.

just felt the lounge and bunk rooms needed a little tlc, and, although not your fault a very noisy pub!, I imagined it to be a bit more quaint and was just a bit surprised, but the cottage (if you call it a cottage) felt like it needed some love in areas, but Thankyou for our stay. Next time I will do my homework on the area around? .
