A perfect hideaway for anyone wishing to escape to Swanage, this charming cottage is well positioned for enjoying the many attractions of the town. Sleeping four guests in two bedrooms, the delightful stone cottage is 0.5 miles from the town’s long sandy beach, where you can swim, surf and hire kayaks. Also on the seafront, pick up the South West Coast Path to head out in either direction on foot. Try the 1-mile walk from Peveril Point to Durlston Castle, looking out for dolphins as you go. Further explore the magical Isle of Purbeck with trips to places such as Lulworth Cove, 15 miles away, and Durdle Door, 15.5 miles away, while you are in this part of the world.

Climb the stone steps up to the front path, then enter the cottage to find yourselves in a welcoming lounge, with soft seating for reclining on after your exciting excursions. There is a TV in here for watching together in the evening, plus a selection of books to choose from. The kitchen/diner is another welcoming space and has been cleverly designed to offer good space for cooking tasty meals for your party and for dining at the table. An open staircase, which is partly railed, leads up to the first floor, where there is a double bedroom, with an en-suite bathroom, and a twin bedroom, with an en-suite shower room.

Stone steps from outside the back door lead up to a decked terrace, with garden furniture, where you can bask in the sunshine and enjoy meals outside.

Pleasant roomy cottage within easy walking distance of Swanage and all its attractions. Nice gardens to sit out in. Good value.

Scored 3 on cleanliness as there were some areas that were not clean; dirty ring under the soap wash on the sink, cutlery and crockery had to be cleaned before use. Only scored 4 on comfort as the mattress in the double room needs to be replaced. Not too bad for one person who could sleep in the middle, but for 2 , you would roll together.

Lovely cottage however, cleanness not great; fridge needed defrosting, smell in kitchen due to unnecessary unclean recycling containers. Dusty in bedroom and broken bath panel, able to see dust, dirt and spiders under bath.

Very well situated for visiting Swanage. We were disappointed that there was no toilet paper on arrival, which after a long journey was not good, and with a child. The shower was often cold .
