Close to a shop and a pub, this quirky, family-friendly cottage in the village of Niton is perfect for friends or family who love walking and enjoying the great outdoors with their four-legged friend by their side. The cottage has bags of character with traditional features, cosy interiors and a wood burner, and an enclosed front garden where you can sit and enjoy afternoon tea and evening drinks in the sunshine.
Every room has old-world charm, including the cosy lounge with exposed beams, a traditional brick floor and a cosy wood burner. There’s also a TV and DVD player for entertainment, and a dining table with space for everyone. Prepare tasty meals in the kitchen, which has contemporary units and everything you need for a self-catering break. The relaxing bathroom is on the ground floor. Head upstairs to the three bedrooms, the first being a double with an incredible wig cupboard, ornate wood panelling, a decorative fireplace and writing on the wall from 1756. There’s a raised single bed, suitable for a child, in the second bedroom, and the third triple bedroom is up a cottage-style staircase on the second floor, with sloped ceilings and wooden beams. Outside, take a picnic out to the table and chairs on the patio and enjoy the fresh air.
Go for a pretty walk from the door along the cliffs of the Undercliff (1.5 miles) where there are awe-inspiring views and beautiful wildlife. Have a fun day out at Blackgang Chine theme park (2 miles) and visit the beautiful beaches at Ventnor (4.5 miles) and St Lawrence (2.5 miles). Compton Beach (10 miles) is known for its stunning views and as a brilliant spot for fossil hunting and water sports, even the drive there on Military Road has breathtaking views of the coast and countryside.
