Located in the tranquil Dorset village of Church Knowle, this delightful and deceptively spacious Grade II-listed property makes a lovely getaway for a large family or a group of friends. Retaining plenty of original features including exposed beams, stonework and a Victorian feature fireplace, this traditional and cosy cottage is a charming base for exploring the idyllic Purbeck Hills and the stunning Jurassic Coast.

This welcoming and comfortable farmhouse-style cottage features a pretty lounge which has been tastefully decorated in neutral tones and makes a great space to relax in at the end of a great day out, with plenty of seating, a wood burner and TV/DVD player. You can enjoy a fantastic meal in the light-filled conservatory/dining room which overlooks the garden and contains the cottage’s original exterior. There is also a games room including PS3 console and a reading area, perfect for children.  Exploring further, there are four cosy and peaceful bedrooms – two double rooms on the first floor and two twin rooms (accessed via two steep separate staircases) on the second floor. From the conservatory, you can step out into the charming garden which features a pretty lawn, trees, shrubs and a small patio with garden furniture so you can enjoy a morning coffee or a glass of wine while admiring the views of the Purbeck Hills.

This is a fantastic base for exploring the Purbeck region, with the quaint village and ruins of Corfe Castle (1.5 miles), the popular Victorian seaside town of Swanage (8 miles) and the thriving market town of Wareham (6 miles) all nearby. Local attractions include The Blue Pool (2 miles), Lulworth Castle (6 miles) and Hartland Moor National Nature Reserve (4 miles). There’s also a choice of wonderful beaches to enjoy including Kimmeridge Bay (3.5 miles), Studland Beach (5 miles), Lulworth Cove (8.5 miles) and Worbarrow Bay (5 miles). In addition, the village playground is just 45m from the cottage. There is parking for 2 cars on the village lane directly in front of the cottage, spaces are not reserved and will be subject to availability.

Brilliant location. Well equipped. The rear garden is secure for dogs. The cottage is comfortable without being overly precious which suited us fine. There are so many places to visit within a 20 mile radius.
