Lodore is situated in a charming small lane on the outskirts of Freshwater, within a 10 minute walk of the lovely beach of Colwell Bay, on the west side of the Isle of Wight. Nearby there is Totland Bay, Freshwater Bay and Alum Bay. The small coastal town and sailing centre of Yarmouth is within a 5 minute drive. This is a wonderful walking and cycling area with a delightful part of the coastal path and walks across the beautiful Tennyson Down nearby. Visitors can walk into the centre of Freshwater where there are a variety of small shops, a supermarket and public houses which are good for food plus the West Wight Sports Centre with its swimming pool and fitness centre. Freshwater Golf Club is also nearby.
Lodore is a lovely traditional semi detached cottage which has been furnished and equipped to a high standard to provide very attractive accommodation for 6 people in 3 bedrooms. The cottage is centrally heated and double glazed. On the ground floor there is a charming sitting room with leather sofas plus an armchair in the attractive bay window, feature fireplace and flat screen HD television with Freeview plus Blu-ray player and Nintendo Wii games console; a separate dining room with a table and chairs for 6 so that meals can be enjoyed in comfort; a well equipped fitted kitchen with breakfast area, a range style cooker with a double oven and 5 burner gas hob, extractor fan, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washer/dryer and an iPod docking station with radio. A couple of deep steps lead from the kitchen to a lean to store room at the rear of the cottage which is ideal for storing bicycles or walking boots. Fairly steep stairs lead up to three delightful bedrooms - a double bedroom with a king size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and wall mounted Smart TV; a lovely twin bedroom with a wardrobe and a second attractive twin bedroom; a family bathroom with a bath, walk-in shower, basin, towel rail and WC. A travel cot/high chair can be made available. Lodore has a sunny patio which is ideal for al fresco dining.
The rear garden is gated and fenced. Parking for two cars is available in the front drive. It is a very good location for exploring the Island. Regular bus service within 5 minutes walk. Boat trips from Yarmouth and Alum Bay
