Western Lines enjoys panoramic coastal views from almost every room. It is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the south east coast of the Island, an area renowned for its mild climate. The house stands just above the charming fishing village of Steephill Cove, a place often written about in magazines due to its simplicity and tranquillity, plus its excellent fish restaurant and cafe. Here, meals can be enjoyed in the summer whilst watching children playing in the rock pools and swimming in the sea, which is only a stones throw away. The fact that this picture-postcard cove can only be accessed by foot only adds to its attraction. The small seaside resort of Ventnor is within an enjoyable 20-minute walk of the house, and the larger seaside resorts of Sandown and Shanklin are only a ten-minute drive away. Here, there are long sandy beaches which gently slope into the water, children's play parks and a variety of more lively entertainments.
Western Lines is a secluded, detached property with spacious, light and airy rooms. In order to take full advantage of the spectacular sea views, the main living accommodation is upstairs. Here, there is an open-plan room with a fitted kitchen offering an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. (A washing machine and tumble dryer are housed in the garage). There is a sitting area with large picture windows overlooking the sea, furnished with a sofa and chairs, plus a 50 inch Smart television with a selection of Sky Q channels. A glazed door opens from the sitting room on to a large balcony where visitors can relax in the sunshine and enjoy meals whilst watching the boats. On this upper floor there is also a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom containing a bath, overhead shower, WC. and basin.
On the ground floor there are three spacious bedrooms - one double room and two twin rooms, one twin room has a TV. A travel cot and high chair can be provided if required. There is a WC. on this floor and a separate shower room with a built in shower and basin. The house has been furnished and equipped with care to provide attractive and comfortable accommodation for eight people in a truly wonderful location.
The house has a pretty garden with lawns and shrubs. There is a fenced area with a lawn where visitors can relax and children can play games. To the side of the house, a few steps lead to a lower lawn with garden furniture. Two cars can be parked in the drive at the front of the house. Western Lines is within a five-minute stroll of Ventnor Botanical Garden where there is a cafe for light meals and teas. Even closer, is the cricket pavilion where a drink can be enjoyed at the bar overlooking the green. Public transport and shops are within a 20 minutes walk. There are nearby historic sites to be enjoyed such as Carisbrooke Castle and Osborne House - the Island home of Queen Victoria; entertainments for children at the seaside resorts, plus Blackgang Chine Adventure Park, Robin Hill County Park, Amazon World Zoo Park; sailing and boating activities; the steam railway; fishing lakes at Whitwell; golf courses at Freshwater, Sandown and Cowes and great restaurants with AA rosettes at Ventnor, Bonchurch, Yarmouth and Seaview.
