There is easy access from the farmhouse to the dramatic south west coast of the island with its tranquil coves. The larger sandy beaches of Ventnor, Shanklin and Sandown are within a 15-minute drive.

The peaceful seclusion offered by the large garden and surrounding private farmland is one of the central features of the property. There is a protected terrace with garden furniture where meals can be enjoyed and a barbecue is provided. There is also a terrace at the front of the house with a table and chairs which catches the evening sun and is a delightful place to relax and admire the array of wildlife that visit the garden including badgers, foxes, jackdaws and the resident owl in the barn which can be seen hunting in the fields. There is a true feeling of escape when visiting this rural retreat. Within a five-minute drive is a farm shop at Chale which specialises in local products and has adjoining tea rooms. General stores, shops and public houses can be found in the nearby villages of Niton and Godshill. The larger supermarkets and a greater variety of shops are in the market town of Newport, a ten-minute drive away. Nearby places of interest include Carisbrooke Castle, Blackgang Chine Adventure Park, Appuldurcome, Brading Roman Villa and the National Trust gardens at Mottistone.
