This traditional stone cottage dates back to the 1700s. It is beautifully situated on the south west coast of the Island, only a two-minute walk from the beach. This part of the coastline is renowned for its fossils and is completely unspoilt. Brook Green is a picturesque coastal hamlet with a small group of attractive stone cottages. The charming villages of Brook and Brighstone are nearby. The sandy coves of Colwell Bay and Totland are within a 10 - 15 minute drive. This is a fantastic walking area and visitors can stroll across the Brighstone and Bowcombe downs, or follow footpaths along the coast to Blackgang and The Needles.
Therles is a detached cottage and provides comfortable accommodation for five people. There is a fitted kitchen with an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine; a pleasant dining area in a conservatory style part of the kitchen; a sitting room with sumptuous sofas and armchair, a television with Freeview and DVD player. Also on the ground floor is a twin bedroom with TV/DVD and a bathroom with a bath and built in shower, hand basin and WC.
An open staircase leads up to two bedrooms; a king-size room and a spacious single room, plus a separate WC. A high chair, travel cot and stair gate can be provided. Wifi internet is available. Therles Cottage has an idyllic, secluded garden which is fenced . Garden furniture and a barbecue are provided. The cottage overlooks fields, and although it is not possible to actually see the sea from the cottage, it is only a few hundred yards away. It is approached by a short pathway beside one of the cottages overlooking the green. Visitors can park by this pathway to bring things into the cottage and at other times, can park in a nearby fenced area within a one-minute walk. The quaint towns of Freshwater and Yarmouth are nearby and offer a choice of restaurants and shops. A bus service and telephone are within a few minutes walk, while a public house is a 15 minute walk away.
