This traditional stone cottage occupies an attractive position in a peaceful country lane on the outskirts of Godshill. It has been converted from the original milking parlour of Lower Yard Farm, and the building is thought to date back to the 1700s. The cottage is within one mile of an Equestrian centre and most of the surrounding fields are home to horses. The centre of the picturesque village of Godshill, with its pretty thatched cottages, restaurants and tea rooms is only three quarters of a mile away. The market town of Newport with its collection of shops and medieval castle is within a five-minute drive. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are all within a 15-minute drive.
The Hayloft has recently been completely renovated. The cottage has been furnished and equipped to a high standard with central heating, fitted carpets and a plentiful supply of hot water. It provides attractive and comfortable accommodation for three people in two bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a well-equipped kitchen with fitted units, an electric cooker and hob, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher; a charming sitting room furnished with comfortable sofas, a wall mounted Smart TV and wood burning stove. WiFi broadband internet is available at this cottage.
Stairs lead up from here to a bathroom with a walk-in shower, basin and WC, and two bedrooms - one spacious double room with a king-sized bed, and one single bedroom with a 4ft bed (this is designated as a single bedroom as the bed is accessible from only one side). A travel cot and high chair can be provided if required. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer available in a nearby utility room, use of which is shared with the adjoining Milk Parlour Cottage. Heating and electricity is without extra charge.
The cottage has an beautiful walled courtyard-style garden at the rear, and there is a fenced area of garden at the front with a lawn, bird table and shrubs. Red Squirrels and a variety of birds are frequent visitors. Garden furniture is provided so that meals can be enjoyed outside. There is a parking area for three cars near the cottage and a regular bus service is within five minutes walk. A public house is within a mile, while general stores are three quarters of a mile away.
