Studded on the southern tip of the Isle of Wight is this enchanting haven that’s ideal for experiencing the beautiful coastline of the Isle of Wight. Sleeping couples and small families of up to four guests, it is a cosy retreat for curling up after a busy day or exploring the shared grounds, carefully supervising young children by the ponds. The village of Niton Undercliff is an excellent vantage point for discovering Ventnor, a seaside resort just 5 miles away.

Surrounded by acres of grounds, your abode is the private wing of a grand historic house and has the added bonus of its own pretty courtyard with seating for al fresco drinks. Inside, the large rooms have been finished in soft, neutral tones complete with attractive furniture and accessories in keeping with the property’s character. Snuggle up on the sofas to watch the Smart TV by the ornate decorative fireplace or perch in the kitchen/diner with a hot drink. This compact yet brilliantly equipped space has everything you need to cook dinner. Two comfortable bedrooms can be found upstairs along with a delightful bathroom.

Whether you are tempted by days on the beach or exhilarating walks along the cliff tops, you’ll be spoilt for choice of how to fill your itinerary. Castle Haven is a tiny cove with a harbour and cafe by the beach 1 mile away. Ventnor has an abundance of pubs, restaurants and cafes throughout its sloping streets and a promenade to peruse. This location also boasts its own microclimate so you may even spot miniature lizards darting about near the seafront. The coast path stretches all the way to The Needles if you fancy breaking down the 17-mile walk into manageable chunks.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful and secluded setting with views from the large garden down to the sea. Probably not suitable for people with mobility issues as there are lots of steps in the house.

The second time we have stayed at Puckaster. Location is wonderful, so peaceful and ideal for exploring different parts of the Island. Cottage is very spacious and comfortable, we received a warm welcome from the owner. We hope to return again!

A lovely setting, ideally placed for reaching beaches, etc. Lovely gardens with lots of space. Little pebbly cove within walking distance & beach hut cafe. Kitchen may benefit from some updated equipment, but other than that there's everything you need. Beds are very comfortable. An outside walled private terrace, with planting, is great space for Read moreeating outside in warm weather. One other self-catering property on site neighbouring this. The owner was very helpful and on site to help if needed. Hide

This cottage is in a lovely position with beautiful gardens. It is well situated for walks along the coastpath although there are many coastal diversions due to the recent landslips. The house has a lovely olde worlde feel about it just what my wife and I like.

Good location with a nice pub close by which serves good evening meals & occasional live music. Interesting house with an interesting history, theres even a picture of it in Carisbrooke Castle. A little bit tired but comfortable.

Sofas are very tired & saggy. Our biggest concern was the hot water supply which was erratic & veered from warm enough to cold during a short shower & every time we used it. We informed the owner & hope this will be improved for next year.

It was an absolute pleasure to stay in 'The Wing', which was extremely clean, with plenty of space and the whole experience was excellent. The grounds were amazing. We had a fabulous stay and the only thing that could perhaps be improved, are the seating cushions on the sofas in the living room. Without hesitation, this will definitely be our firstRead more choice, when coming back to the Isle of Wight. Finally, the owner is a really lovely lady and we are very pleased to have met her. Hide

Puckaster House is set in glorious grounds with wonderful sea views. It is a peaceful and secluded spot. The upstairs of the cottage was spacious, but overall it was a little uncomfortable for a rainy July holiday. With no heating we couldnt dry towels/clothes and the rooms felt a little damp. The bathroom is old fashioned (small shower over bath wRead morehich ran hot and cold uncontrollably). We paid extra for towels which were thin and small. Overall lovely location but a little sparse. A glorious place to stay. On the far-south of the island where the delivery lorries don't go, the roads are empty and quiet. This means that you WILL need a car. The house is stunning, in a stunning garden with a mix of lovely landscaping and overgrown wilderness occupied by laid-back bunnies and not-too-bright pheasants - with only the (delightfulRead more) owner and whoever is in the 2 holiday lets in residence. The accommodation is clean and basic with the sofas somewhat stressed Hide

The wing is full of character and spacious. Beautiful gardens to enjoy and share with the rabbits and peacocks. Peaceful and convenient location. Sofa's could do with an upgrade and feather duvet too warm.
