Robins' Retreat is situated in the grounds of Ford Farmhouse. It enjoys views across beautiful countryside and is within a ten-minute drive of the sandy beaches of Shanklin, Steephill Cove and Ventnor. It is a wonderful walking and cycling area with footpaths and bridleways leading from close to the cottage to nearby downs and to the villages of Godshill and Whitwell. There is a renowned walk which follows the course of the River Yar from its source at Niton to the sea at Bembridge. The nearby village of Whitwell has a great public house for meals, and within a few minutes drive there is also the village of Niton where there are excellent general stores, a public house, pharmacy and a beautiful church. The thatched village of Godshill lies about two miles away and has two public houses and a restaurant.

Robins' Retreat provides attractive and comfortable accommodation for two people in one bedroom. It has been furnished and equipped to a high standard and is centrally heated and double glazed. There is an open plan living area with a fitted kitchen offering an electric cooker, gas hob, dishwasher and refrigerator with icebox; a pleasant dining area; a sitting room with armchairs and a flat screen television with a DVD player and Freeview. Patio doors open from here on to a pretty terrace with a table and chairs so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine whilst enjoying the views. There is also an additional seating area to the rear of the cottage which has a picnic bench and can be found down a few steps.

There is a separate double bedroom with a super king-size bed. This room is well equipped with fitted wardrobes and a lovely en-suite shower room with a large walk in shower, basin and W.C. Heating and electricity are provided without extra charge. Wifi internet is available. A freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer are also available for visitors use in an easily accessible out-building.

A variety of birds, foxes, badgers, rabbits and hares are frequent visitors to the garden. In addition to the pretty terrace there is an area of garden where visitors can relax, and also a parking space immediately beside the cottage. There are fishing lakes in the village of Whitwell and golf courses in Ventnor and Sandown. Nearby places to visit include Ventnor Botanical Garden, Carisbrooke Castle, The Garlic Farm, St Catherine's lighthouse, Osborne House and a variety of stunning coves on the south and west coast of the island. We would recommend this property although it is a little remote but all the attractions are accessible by car. The property is on a farm but there are no animals waking you up in the morning. One criticism I would have is that the wifi is very hit and miss.

A fantastic little cottage in the middle of the countryside but only a short drive to most places on the island. This cottage was so throughly stocked with everything you could possibly need. A lot of thought was put into this cottage by Shirley the owner. I highly recommend this absolute gem of a cottage and my husband and I can't wait to go back Read morenext year. Hide

Little Granville Cottage is a fine place to enjoy a holiday. It is in a quiet rural area with easy access to most parts of The Island. The property provided all that we wanted, was well looked after and plenty big enough for the two of us. The owner lives in the nearby farmhouse and was helpful and friendly.

Lovely cottage on its own in a gorgeous location on a farm. Total peace and quiet but within 15-30 mins of all the great locations and beaches. Shirley is a wonderful host and nothing is too much trouble. Great for couples. Highly recommended.

A cottage that was comfortable to laze away your time. Set in a beautiful area with extraordinary views to the hills. Easy to get to but not too far away. With a friendly host, we had a week to remember. We shall return.
