The village centre with its 11th century church, public houses including the award winning gastro-pub, The New Inn, and village shop are less than one and a half miles away. Shalfleet is renowned for its estuary which is part of a National Nature Reserve and is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is home to countless wildfowl and rare wading birds. The sailing centre of Yarmouth is within a ten minute drive and offers a variety of excellent restaurants and boutique style shops. Also nearby, are the sandy bays of Totland and Colwell, as well as Brook Compton and Freshwater Bay. The cottage is in a wonderful walking and cycling area with easy access to Brighstone Forest and superb coastal walks, plus the Hamstead Trail and Tennyson Trail which extends from the centre of the island to The Needles on the western tip.

Stairs lead up from the spacious hallway to an additional three bedrooms; a master bedroom with a double bed, a smart television with Blu-ray DVD player and double doors opening into a dressing room area, plus an en-suite shower room with built in shower, WC. and basin; a second light and spacious double bedroom with a small en-suite shower room with built in shower, basin and WC.; a twin bedroom; a spacious family bathroom with a large bath, a walk in shower, basin and W.C. (Please bring adapter for din plug jack to your phone/iPhone) Central heating and electricity are without extra charge.

A particularly wonderful feature of Field Cottage is the large fenced and gated garden at the rear of the property. This has a combination of lawns and colourful borders, plus a terrace with garden furniture so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine. In addition, there is an area for young children to enjoy with a trampoline and swings. At the front of the cottage is a large drive where four cars can be parked and there is an electric vehicle charging socket for use, please check compatibility. Lovely spacious property, tastefully decorated. Modern touches in keeping with an old property. Lovely conservatory which is ideal this time of the year. We spent a lot of time in there. A lovely spacious cottage with ample parking . Ideally situated close to Yarmouth with many coastal walks and cycle paths. Pubs and eateries close by and supermarket not far away. A great place to relax particularly when the sun shines.

Field Cottage was the sanctuary that our family needed for a much deserved break. It is such a cheerful, homely property with ample space for everyone. The property is a perfect location for exploring the Island. We enjoyed our stay immensely. We did find a few issues with the roof in the conservatory and one of the beds and these have been highlighted to the owner. The kitchen was so very well equipped and our family of six had a lovely holiday at this cottage.

A beautiful cottage, warm and cosy and felt like a home away from home. Fantastic space in the garden and great for our children and the dog. The space in the house is very generous and the layout works well. A very enjoyable stay and would love to return one day!

A great cottage for a group of 3 couples and a dog. Loads of space to relax in the living room or conservatory. Kitchen very well equipped with both conventional cooker & hob and Aga. Bus stop outside the cottage connects to a good service to all parts of the island - don't forget your bus pass if you are lucky enough to have one!
