This lovely stone cottage is situated in the small rural hamlet of Bowcombe which stands between the pretty village of Shorwell and Carisbrooke with its medieval castle. Shorwell and Carisbrooke are both within a 5 minute drive and have public houses which are good for meals. The cottage offers easy access to the small bays and coves on the south west side of the Isle of Wight. Brighstone beach is within a 10 minute drive and the larger sandy beaches of Ventnor and Shanklin are within a 20 minute drive.

This picturesque Grade II listed cottage dates back to 1676 and is attractively situated at the end of a quiet lane with a lovely ford and footpath leading to the nearby medieval castle of Carisbrooke. Located in the oldest part of Carisbrooke village which is a conservation area lying within ‘An area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. The castle is only 5 minutes walk away and can be glimpsed from the garden and main bedrooms. This is a wonderful walking area as within 5 minutes walk of the cottage visitors can join the famous Tennyson Trail which follows the downs westerly towards The Needles.

Driftwood is within a three minute walk of the beach at Brighstone on the south west coast of the Isle of Wight – a quiet beach where swimming and paddling can be enjoyed. This is “An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty“ and a delightful walking area. Driftwood is attractively situated in a small courtyard of cottages. There are coastal or lovely downland views from most of the rooms. It has been furnished and equipped with care to provide lovely accommodation Wifi and telephone available. This farmhouse is attractively situated on the edge of the pretty village of Shalfleet towards the West side of the Isle of Wight. The cottage adjoins the grounds of Shalfleet Manor House and has its own private entrance into a quiet lane which leads from the village to a footpath on Newtown Creek. This estuary, which is only a few minutes walk from the farmhouse, is part of a National Nature Reserve and is in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Several secluded bays and beaches are within 10 minutes drive.

A wonderfully spacious and welcoming seaside holiday cottage within a few paces of the beach at Bonchurch and located on the coastal path to nearby Ventnor. Sea Shells on the Beach has 3 beautiful bedrooms decorated with a luxurious seaside theme. Within a short walk is the centre of the village of Bonchurch where there is a village pond and excellent local restaurant. The beach at nearby Ventnor is a popular holiday attraction.

Spring Cottage stands in an idyllic location, within a 2 minute walk of the beach in the pretty seaside village of Bonchurch on the south east coast of the Island. Bonchurch is a peaceful village with a small shop, public house, good restaurant and two ancient churches plus a pretty pond which is home to carp, ducks and a variety of birds.

This delightful stone cottage which dates back to 1761 is built of Isle of Wight chalk and brick. Hackney Stable cottage is situated on a lovely farm in beautiful South Wight countryside. It is a marvellous walking area with footpaths that can be followed directly from the cottage in most directions. There are particularly attractive walks along the course of the river Yar, to the picturesque village of Godshill and to the nearby village of Arreton which has a public house, farm shop and cafe for meals. The cottage is excellent for cyclists as there is access to a network of cycle paths directly from the farm and arrangements can be make for the storage of bikes. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are all within a 15 minute drive. Ferries can be booked for you at greatly discounted prices.
This delightful detached New England style house is within a 7 minute walk of two lovely beaches - the quiet sandy Priory Bay Beach and Seagrove Bay with its variety of sand, rock pools and boating. This is a beautiful coastal area and the nearby coastpath can be followed to St Helens and onwards to Bembridge. Alternatively visitors can walk along the seafront of Seaview into Ryde – a seaside resort with a variety of traditional seaside entertainments plus swimming pool, ice rink and bowling alley. The Priory Bay Hotel with its excellent restaurant and cream teas is within a 5 minute walk and the shops and restaurants at the centre of Seaview village are within a 20 minute walk.
Iona is situated in a lane on the outskirts of Seaview. In recent years it has been architecturally redesigned to provide superb spacious accommodation for 8 people in a light and modern environment. It is centrally heated and double glazed. On the ground floor there is an attractive entrance hall which opens into a large open plan sitting room with leather sofas, a wall mounted television with Freeview; a separate lovely fitted kitchen with electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine and breakfast bar; a delightful dining area, with a large table and chairs and patio doors opening on to the terrace; a second charming sitting room area with a corner sofa, TV/Freeview/DVD; a double bedroom with French doors opening into the garden and an en-suite shower room with built in shower, basin and WC; a separate cloakroom with WC with basin.
A beautiful American Oak staircase winds up from the sitting room to three more spacious bedrooms – one twin room; a charming double room and the master bedroom with a king size bed, television and en-suite shower room with built in shower, basin and WC, a dressing area and small mezzanine with desk and HiFi system. There is also a superb tiled family bathroom with a corner bath, built in shower, basin and WC. A folding bed can be made available in one of the double bedrooms so that two children can sleep separately; travel cot/high chair can also be provided. WiFi internet available.
There is a lovely fenced and gated garden at the rear of Iona. Immediately adjacent to the house is a terrace with garden furniture and a gas barbecue so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine. Five steps ascend to a large lawn with additional garden furniture. (Please be aware that there is a 3 ft drop between the lawn and the terrace. Children do therefore need to be closely supervised at all times). At the front of the property there is a large drive and area of garden. Here 4 cars can be accommodated. Covered storage for bikes. Bus service, public house and small general stores within 5 minutes walk. Large supermarket and shopping centre in Ryde - 10 minutes drive. Nearby places to visit include Seaview Wildlife Encounter, Havenstreet Street Steam Railway; Robin Hill Adventure Park and Osborne House - the island home of Queen Victoria.
Iona Cottage has ground floor accommodation and is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided free of charge at Iona Cottage. Iona Cottage is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Saturday to Saturday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 15:00 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from and 28th October 2017 to 17th December 2017.

One dog welcome by agreement and the back garden is walled and gated. Pets are not permitted upstairs, on the furniture or in the bedrooms. We also ask owners not to leave dogs on their own in the cottage and not to allow them to foul the garden. Puppies and also dogs with incontinence problems are not permitted without specific agreement. Please ensure that your pet's treatment for the prevention of fleas is up to date.
