Ventnor is a historic seaside holiday resort and has been a favourite destination of those wishing a peaceful holiday by the sea. The beach a mix of sand and soft shingle which makes it wonderful for sunbathing. The Southeast facing beach catches most of the summer sun and the water is ideal for swimming.

The town of Ventnor is a mix of small shops, cafes and restaurants. There is a welcoming a friendly atmosphere as you find of most of the Island. Historic buildings and curiosities are sprinkled around town and many pose besides the waterfall or visit the fish market.

Ventnor has some beautiful parks and gardens. There are the Ventnor Gardens and the Ventnor Botanical Gardens. Ventnor Gardens are just South of the town centre and has beautiful open lawns and flower beds. Visitors and locals enjoy the benches and the dappled light through the overhanging trees. Ventnor Botanical Gardens are located towards St Lawrence and have a wide variety of exotic plants which thrive in the warm micro-climate.

Hadfield Cottage New Photos 2017/2018

Hadfield Cottage in Bonchurch Isle of Wight has new photographs showing updates and changes for the 2017 / 2018 self catering holiday season. Hadfield is an extremely popular holiday home in the small seaside village of Bonchurch and is within a short walk of Ventnor beach.

The village of Bonchurch is a beautiful holiday location on the Southeast of the Isle of Wight. At the top end of the village there is an attractive duck pond and small high street. The village has a beautiful 16C church which is open to the public. A footpath leads down through the village to the sea where there is a beach. The coastal path from Bonchurch leads to the coastal resort of Ventnor and the walk along the sea front is an easy and flat track suitable for most abilities.

Inland from Bonchurch there are a number of excellent walking and cycling opportunities. A popular walk goes inland across the downs to Godshill where there is an excellent pub. Alternatively, keeping to the coast, there is a walk to Shanklin which includes a visit to Devils Chimney (a narrow path through the cliff).

Barn Whitwell Cottage Available for 2017

The Barn Whitwell is now available for holidays in 2017. This cottage has only recently released dates for the summer holidays and the rest of the year and therefore there is still some availability for busy holiday dates.

This period cottage is located in the village of Whitwell and within a short drive or pleasant walk of Ventnor. The cottage is also within walking distance of Godshill where there are shops and a choice of pubs.

The village of Whitwell is in an excellent walking and cycling area as well as having excellent access to the coast on both the South East and South West of the Island. In the village there is an excellent public house, numerous traditional thatched cottages and a historic church.

Baltija Cottage 2017 photo updates

Baltija Cottage has been redecorated for the 2017 self catering holiday season and there are new photos showing the updates and changes made.

Baltija enjoys a wonderful and peaceful location on the South East coast of the Isle of Wight between Ventnor and Niton Undercliff. Baltija is only a short drive or a pleasant walk along the coastal path from Ventnor Beach and the attractive bay of Steephill Cove.

There is a lawned garden at Baltija and a outside eating area with a view of the sea. Within a short walk is a small local bay.
