Shorwell and Carisbrooke are both within a 5 minute drive and have public houses which are good for meals. The cottage offers easy access to the small bays and coves on the south west side of the Isle of Wight. Brighstone beach is within a 10 minute drive and the larger sandy beaches of Ventnor and Shanklin are within a 20 minute drive.

This picturesque Grade II listed cottage dates back to 1676 and is attractively situated at the end of a quiet lane with a lovely ford and footpath leading to the nearby medieval castle of Carisbrooke. Located in the oldest part of Carisbrooke village which is a conservation area lying within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The castle is only 5 minutes walk away and can be glimpsed from the garden and main bedrooms. This is a wonderful walking area as within 5 minutes walk of the cottage visitors can join the famous Tennyson Trail which follows the downs westerly towards The Needles.

Bay View is beautifully situated beside the beach with panoramic sea views from most of the main rooms. It is in a peaceful location with the beach of Seagrove Bay only half a minute's walk away. Here swimming, paddling and boating can be enjoyed. There is also a footpath directly from the house to the beautiful sandy Priory Bay - a 5 minute walk away. The atmospheric village centre of Seaview, with its small shops, sailing club and restaurants is within a 7 minute stroll.

High Rising is situated within a few minutes walk of the sea at Gurnard. Here there is a quiet beach where visitors can enjoy paddling swimming and boating. It is a marvellous walking area with footpaths that can be followed directly from the cottage in most directions. There are particularly attractive walks along the course of the river Yar, to the picturesque village of Godshill and to the nearby village of Arreton which has a public house, farm shop and cafe for meals. The cottage is excellent for cyclists as there is access to a network of cycle paths directly from the farm and arrangements can be make for the storage of bikes. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are all within a 15 minute drive. Ferries can be booked for you at greatly discounted prices.

This lovely stone cottage was originally a large and ancient stone barn at Sainham Farm. It is situated in the attractive courtyard and has marvellous open views from the rear across the fields to the downs. Stag Cottage is in one of the loveliest parts of the Island lying at the foot of Appuldurcombe Down and above the picturesque village of Godshill in ‘An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. Godshill can be reached by taking a pleasant stroll through the beech copse and across the fields. The village has a variety of tea shops and restaurants as well as two public houses.

Westview stands in the centre of the small rural village of Shorwell on the south west of the island and is only a 5 minute drive from a quiet beach at Brighstone. This lovely Grade II listed cottage is adjacent to a beautiful 11th century church and a charming old public house with a large duck pond is within a 1 minute walk. The village is surrounded by beautiful countryside and this is a wonderful walking area with easy access to the Tennyson Trail. The market town of Newport and the impressive mediaeval castle of Carisbrooke are within a 10 minute drive.
Westview is a large stone cottage which dates back to 1750 and adjoins a similar property. It has been sensitively renovated to retain original beams and fireplaces. The cottage has been equipped with care to provide attractive and comfortable accommodation for 8 people in 4 bedrooms. It is furnished in a traditional style and is centrally heated. On the ground floor there is a very spacious open plan kitchen and attractive dining area. The kitchen is equipped with fitted units, an AGA, electric hob, electric cooker (with a double oven and grill), microwave, and dishwasher and fridge freezer. (Please be aware that the AGA is only on during the colder months of late October to March). There is a separate utility area with a washing machine and tumble dryer plus a cloakroom with a W.C and basin. The sitting room is also a lovely spacious room furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs. It has an inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove. Here visitors can relax in front of a real open fire. There is also a flat screen television/Freeview/DVD player. Three steps lead up from the sitting room to a light and spacious twin bedroom. Upstairs there are 3 lovely spacious bedrooms – one double room with king size bed, a TV and en-suite shower room with W.C and basin. There is a second double room and a twin room plus a family bathroom with a bath, W.C and basin. Central heating and electricity provided at no extra charge. Wooden cot (sleeps infant up to 18 months) or cot bed (sleeps child up to 3 years) and high chair can be made available. Telephone provided and WiFi can be made available.
The cottage has a small landscaped seating area at the front of the cottage where visitors can relax whilst soaking up the last sun of the day. At the rear of the cottage there is a courtyard with a barbecue and garden furniture. There is a playground in the village for young children and also a playing field. Two cars can be parked in the driveway at the side of the cottage. Visitors are occasionally asked not to park here when there is a wedding in the church as the drive then provides a secondary access to the church. Regular bus service and village shop within 3 minutes walk.
Westview - Shorwell is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided at a charge of £12.00 at Westview - Shorwell. Westview - Shorwell is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Saturday to Saturday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 15:30 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from and 27th October 2018 to 20th December 2018.

Showell is a small village on the South West of the Isle of Wight. The village has a lovely public house as well as a village shop. This South West part of the Isle of Wight has a beautiful coastline and there is good access by road to the beaches on the South East such as Ventnor and St Lawrence.

The ride starts in Freshwater Bay, joins a cycle track on the edge of Freshwater town going to Yarmouth. After seeing Yarmouth, with it's castle and boutique shops, the route continues to Totland and Totland Bay, where there is a beautiful beach, and on towards Alum Bay where we turn back towards Freshwater.
