Introduction

Westview is a self-catering cottage situated in the middle of a small rural village. It is a Grade II listed 1750 cottage and therefore has many period features, these may not conform to current Building Regulations. We have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement, if you have any queries please do call. We look forward to welcoming you.

Arrival and Car Parking Facilities

  • There is a shared driveway to the left hand side of the property (when facing property). Driveway is shared with the church – occasionally visitors are requested to leave the driveway whilst weddings/funerals take place. We will contact you directly if such an event falls during your stay.
  • The driveway is tarmac and on a slope. The driveway is 4m wide and is 13m from the rear entrance
  • There is street parking available, 50m from the property.
  • The front entrance is reached via 6 irregular steps and a slightly uneven stone path, 1m wide.
  • The rear entrance is reached by a concrete, flat and even path 1.5m wide.

Brighstone beach is within a 10 minute drive and the larger sandy beaches of Ventnor and Shanklin are within a 20 minute drive.

There are particularly attractive walks along the course of the river Yar, to the picturesque village of Godshill and to the nearby village of Arreton which has a public house, farm shop and cafe for meals. The cottage is excellent for cyclists as there is access to a network of cycle paths directly from the farm and arrangements can be make for the storage of bikes. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are all within a 15 minute drive. Ferries can be booked for you at greatly discounted prices.

Westview - Shorwell is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided at a charge of £12.00 at Westview - Shorwell. Westview - Shorwell is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Saturday to Saturday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 15:30 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from and 27th October 2018 to 20th December 2018.

The West of the Isle of Wight is best known for its unspoilt nature and dramatic coastline. The areas is far less commercialised and the many of the beaches can be enjoyed almost to ones self.
