Upper Dolcoppice is superbly situated in a small valley, surrounded by rolling South Wight countryside in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The farmhouse has one and a half acres of well-fenced garden and a further 33 acres of farmland. It is a haven for wildlife and buzzards can often be seen flying overhead. It is completely secluded and there are views from some of the upper rooms across fields to Godshill and its hilltop church. This is a wonderful walking and cycling area with private paths across the farm and links with a network of footpaths which extend to nearby St Catherine's Down, with its magnificent views and to the coast at Chale, Blackgang and Niton. There is easy access from the farmhouse to the dramatic south west coast of the island with its tranquil coves. The larger sandy beaches of Ventnor, Shanklin and Sandown are within a 15-minute drive.

This detached stone farmhouse has been furnished and equipped with care to provide attractive and comfortable accommodation of a high standard. It is double glazed and has under-floor central heating. The bedrooms and sitting room have fitted carpets, while other areas are an attractive combination of wooden and tiled floors. The rooms are spacious and light. On the ground floor there is a large double aspect sitting room furnished with sofas, armchairs, a wood burning stove and flat screen Smart television with Freeview/DVD; a double aspect dining room for more formal meals, with windows overlooking the garden; double glass doors lead from the living room to a superbly equipped kitchen with bespoke wooden units, granite work tops, a range style gas hob, electric oven, microwave, two dishwashers and two full height fridges and separate full height freezer; a breakfast area beside large glass windows and doors which open on to the terrace; a separate utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and sink; a cloakroom with WC. and basin; a large ante-room with coat cupboards and table.

Stairs lead up to four charming bedrooms. A dual aspect master bedroom with a VI Spring super-king size double bed and views across fields to Godshill; an en-suite bathroom with an bath, separate shower cubicle, basin and WC ,also a wardrobe cupboard; a second spacious dual aspect double bedroom with a king-size bed with en suite shower and WC; a light and spacious dual aspect twin room; a smaller twin room with full size beds which may be more suitable for children; a family bathroom with a bath, separate shower, basin and WC. A folding bed for an extra child or travel cot and high chair can be made available on request - please request at the time of booking. Central heating and electricity is without extra charge. WiFi internet can be provided.

The peaceful seclusion offered by the large garden and surrounding private farmland is one of the central features of the property. There is a protected terrace with garden furniture where meals can be enjoyed and a barbecue is provided. There is also a terrace at the front of the house with a table and chairs which catches the evening sun and is a delightful place to relax and admire the array of wildlife that visit  the garden including badgers, foxes, jackdaws and the resident owl in the barn which can be seen hunting in the fields. There is a true feeling of  escape when visiting this rural retreat. Within a five-minute drive is a farm shop at Chale which specialises in local products and has adjoining tea rooms. General stores, shops and public houses can be found in the nearby villages of Niton and Godshill. The larger supermarkets and a greater variety of shops are in the market town of Newport, a ten-minute drive away. Nearby places of interest include Carisbrooke Castle, Blackgang Chine Adventure Park, Appuldurcome, Brading Roman Villa and the National Trust gardens at Mottistone. The house is decorated for Christmas.

The farm house, which was situated off road was beautiful within its own tranquil grounds. Very spacious, beautiful kitchen where all the family can enjoy the evening before setting in the lounge. Lovely, spacious cottage in a peaceful, rural location. We found it to be a great size for four adults, four children and two dogs. The rooms are good sizes. The children loved the garden and feeding the squirrels and birds. We found the location handy for exploring the whole island. Cannot fault this cottage, excellent location, quite remote but close enough to amenities. Lots of wildife to see, including pheasants/owls, helped by topping up the feeders with food left by the owners. Wouldn't hesitate to return back given the opportunity, very relaxing and peaceful. Absolutely stunning location. The walks on the doorstep were perfect for the dogs. I make sure that the bird feeders were topped up and we were rewarded with amazing wildlife all around the garden. Great property in a lovely quiet location. We had a fabulous New Year break but could imagine the house being idyllic in the summer with a beer and bbq on the go. A great find. The house is spacious, well equipped and extremely comfortable with the added bonus of being dog friendly.

Farmhouse and location is superb. Small dog owners be aware that the vast garden extends beyond your view and at certain times of the year adventurous small dogs would out of sight in the bracken and re wilding area.

We particularly enjoyed taking early morning jogs/post-dinner evening walks to appreciate the sunset from the field in front of the house.
