Lovely detached bungalow, in a quiet lane, on the outskirts of the pretty village of Brighstone, on the south west side of the Isle of Wight. Wonderful walking and cycling area with bridleways and footpaths at the end of the lane leading up on to Brighstone Downs. From here the Tennyson Trail can be followed to The Needles on the western tip of the Island or inland to Carisbrooke with its medieval castle. The cottage is only 1/2 mile from the village centre with public house for meals, bistro/tea shop, excellent village shop with local produce. The quiet beaches of Brighstone Bay are also nearby.   • There is space for 2 cars on the drive in front of the garage.
  • The drive is on an incline and is brick paved.
  • Leading from the parking area is a level brick paved path with a width of 110 cm leading to the entrance area.
  • There is a flight of 9 stone steps leading to the front door. The stone steps are each approximately 13 cm high. Running the length of the steps is a handrail.

  • A paved path leads to a paved patio area with outdoor seating. The paving slabs on the path and patio are a little uneven so guests need to be aware of this.
  • The lawned areas are also a little uneven.

All of the shops, restaurants, and amenities of the small resort of Shanklin are within a few minutes walk.

Magnolia Cottage is situated on a delightful farm in one of the loveliest parts of the Isle of Wight lying at the foot of Appuldurcombe Down and above the picturesque village of Godshill in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A pleasant ten-minute stroll through the beech copse and across the fields leads to the centre of Godshill. This village is renowned for its church and pretty thatched cottage.

Lovely traditional cottage with beautiful rural views, across fields to nearby downs, from all of the main rooms in the cottage. It is delightfully situated on a small 12 acre farm which is home to horses. This is a wonderful walking and cycling area. Footpaths can be followed across beautiful countryside directly from the cottage and these is easy access to a cycle path which links the seaside resort of Sandown with the pretty villages of Newchurch and Godshill and then extends to the market town of Newport with its lovely medieval castle of Carisbrooke. The cottage is within a 10 minute drive of the sandy beaches of Sandown and Shanklin. The accommodation is all on one level and the cottage has been furnished and equipped to a high standard. A nearby public house serves excellent food.

This lovely 17th century cottage is built of Island chalk and brick and enjoys beautiful views across nearby lakes and open countryside to Ventnor Downs. Parlour Cottage is situated on a lovely farm in beautiful South Wight countryside. It is a marvellous walking area with footpaths that can be followed directly from the cottage in most directions. There are particularly attractive walks along the course of the river Yar; to the picturesque village of Godshill and to the nearby village of Arreton which has a public house, farm shop and cafe for meals. The cottage is excellent for cyclists as there is access to a network of cycle paths directly from the farm and arrangements can be make for the storage of bikes. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are all within a 15 minute drive.

Strawberry Cottage is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided free of charge at Strawberry Cottage. Strawberry Cottage is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Saturday to Saturday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 15:00 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from 28th October 2017 to 11th December 2017, 6th January 2018 to 8th February 2018, 17th February 2018 to 1st March 2018 and 27th October 2018 to 20th December 2018.

To See and Do Around Brighstone, Isle of Wight

Brighstone Beach - The sand and shingle beach at Brighstone is a short walk from the village centre. The West coast beach extends all the way to Blackgang in the South and Freshwater in the West. Find out more about Brighstone Beach.

Walking the Downs - Footpaths from Brighstone take you up onto the Down from which you can take a hill top walk to Freshwater Bay to the West or Carisbrooke to the East. The Down affords wonderful views of the Isle of Wight and some vantage points allow you to see almost the whole of the West side of the Isle of Wight. Alternatively, one can follow the coastal path from Brighstone and enjoy the dramatic coastline towards Alum Bay which takes in Brook and Freshwater Bay.

Specific Pet Policy for Strawberry Cottage

Two dogs are welcome. The back garden is fenced and gated. Pets are not permitted on the furniture, in the bedrooms or on any of the throws in the cottage. We also ask owners not to leave dogs on their own in the cottage and not to allow them to foul the garden. Puppies and also dogs with incontinence problems are not permitted without specific agreement. Please ensure that your pet's treatment for the prevention of fleas is up to date. We regret that cats are not permitted.
