This lovely stone cottage was originally a large and ancient stone barn at Sainham Farm. It is situated in the attractive courtyard and has marvellous open views from the rear across the fields to the downs. Stag Cottage is in one of the loveliest parts of the Island lying at the foot of Appuldurcombe Down and above the picturesque village of Godshill in ‘An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. Godshill can be reached by taking a pleasant stroll through the beech copse and across the fields. The village has a variety of tea shops and restaurants as well as two public houses.

Local walks follow the top of the Downs as far as Freshwater and Alum Bay and enjoy wonderful views all along the way.

Two Mead Cottage is one of a pair of cottages which stand in the attractive rural hamlet of Alverstone and is less than a 5 minute drive from the lovely sandy beaches of Sandown on the east coast of the Island. The cottage is located on a small 12 acre farm which is home to horses, cows and a few free range chickens. The farm is in “An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty” and has a charming large pond which attracts ducks, moorhens and the occasional heron.

Beach Haven is within a 2 minute walk of the beach in the lovely coastal village of Bembridge. It is one of a small gated community of town house style properties, Solent Landing, with communal gardens which extend to the beach and provide direct access to the sea. A wonderful beach for children to enjoying paddling and playing in the sand & rock pools at low tide. Beach Haven is on the inland side of Solent Landing with glimpses of the nearby harbour from the upper rooms.The houses are built around a central communal courtyard which is a great spot for enjoying al fresco dining when not enjoying a barbecue on the beach.

Baltija is beautifully situated in the wonderful semi rural coastal area of St Lawrence on the south of the Island. St Lawrence is renowned for it mild climate and is an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. Lanes and footpaths can be followed directly from the property to the sea at Woody Bay which is a ten to fifteen minute walk away.

The cottage has been renovated to a high standard and provides very attractive accommodation for 4 with a ground floor bedroom and shower room offering easy access.

This is a wonderful position for outdoor pursuits, walking, cycling, fishing and golf. In the village there are lovely water meadows and fishing ponds with hides for bird and red squirrel watching. There are many footpaths leading up on to the downs and towards the coast.

This pretty Swiss style cottage is situated in the lovely gardens of Ventnor Park. These gardens have sheltered lawns, well kept paths and excellent 18 hole putting green. Nearby footpaths lead up to high ground from where there are beautiful sea views. The sandy beach of Ventnor can be reached by taking a pleasant 5 minute stroll through the gardens and down to the esplanade. Footpaths also lead directly from the cottage to the quiet cove of Steephill and the Botanical Gardens.

This lovely 17th century cottage is built of Island chalk and brick and enjoys beautiful views across nearby lakes and open countryside to Ventnor Downs. Parlour Cottage is situated on a lovely farm in beautiful South Wight countryside. It is a marvellous walking area with footpaths that can be followed directly from the cottage in most directions. There are particularly attractive walks along the course of the river Yar; to the picturesque village of Godshill and to the nearby village of Arreton which has a public house, farm shop and cafe for meals. The cottage is excellent for cyclists as there is access to a network of cycle paths directly from the farm and arrangements can be make for the storage of bikes. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are all within a 15 minute drive.

The lovely quiet rural village of Newchurch, which has a good public house for meals, is only a 10 to 15 minute walk away. The sandy beaches of Sandown and Shanklin are within a 10 minute drive.
Squire Thatcher’s Barn, which adjoins Paper Barn, has been carefully converted from an 18th Century Grade II Listed stone barn. It overlooks a lovely large open grassy courtyard which is often adorned by ducks. Stables are on two side of the courtyard, and an ancient threshing barn and farmhouse are on the other side. The cottage sleeps six people in three bedrooms with two bath/shower rooms.The cottage has been furnished and equipped with care. Squire Thatcher’s Barn has a lovely light and spacious open-plan sitting room with comfortable sofas, television/Freeview/DVD/ video recorder and a hi-fi system. There is a pleasant dining area by a window with lovely views across fields towards the downs. The fitted kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. A washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer are also provided. The cottage has three pretty bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a twin and a double room; a bathroom with a bath and a separate w.c. A spiral staircase leads up to an additional attractive double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. The cottage is warmed with a combination of storage heaters and electric heaters. Heating and electricity are free of charge. A travel cot/high chair can be made available. The cottage has a wireless broadband internet (WiFi) connection available.
At the rear of the cottage there is a lovely fenced garden with wonderful open views across fields to Arreton and Mersley Downs. There is an attractive terrace with garden furniture, a lawned area and a barbecue area. A barbecue can be made available free of charge on request. Two cars can be parked at the rear of the cottage. Rural bus service ¼ miles. Access to the cottage is along a bridleway and private lane which is bumpy in places. Nearby places to visit include Amazon Adventure, The Garlic Farm, The Roman Villa, Carisbrooke Castle and Havenstreet Steam Railway.

Squire Thatchers Barn is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Saturday to Saturday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 15:00 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from 17th February 2018 to 22nd March 2018 and 27th October 2018 to 20th December 2018.

Sandown to Newchurch Cycle Track - A flat cycle track runs from Sandown to Newchurch and passes close by. You can easily cycle to the beach at Sandown or head inland towards Newport where there are routes peeling off to Godshill, Wroxall, Cowes and most of the rest of the Isle of Wight. Local nature reserve - Alverstone Mead and the SSSI of Alverstone Marshes are within a short walk of Borthwood. Join the cycle track at Alverstone and head towards Sandown. You will cross the reserve along the way.
