Two Mead Cottage is one of a pair of cottages which stand in the attractive rural hamlet of Alverstone and is less than a 5 minute drive from the lovely sandy beaches of Sandown on the east coast of the Island. The cottage is located on a small 12 acre farm which is home to horses, cows and a few free range chickens. The farm is in “An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty” and has a charming large pond which attracts ducks, moorhens and the occasional heron.

It has been converted from the original milking parlour of Lower Yard Farm and the building is thought to date back to the 1700‘s. A small riding stables is within a few minutes walk and most of the surrounding fields are home to horses. The centre of the picturesque village of Godshill, with its pretty thatched cottages, restaurants and tea shops is only 3/4 mile away.

This lovely two bedroom cottage is very attractively situated on Egypt Esplanade, near Cowes and is within a one minute walk of the sea. There are open sea views from the living room, double bedroom and garden. Briary Cottage has been furnished and equipped, with great care, to a high standard. Cowes and Gurnard are both within a short walk along the sea front. The views of the large yachts are amazing from the cottage during Cowes week which for 2018 is from the 4th August.

There is also easy access to the cycle route which crosses the Island. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are all within a 15 minute drive.

Lovely detached bungalow, in a quiet lane, on the outskirts of the pretty village of Brighstone, on the south west side of the Isle of Wight. Wonderful walking and cycling area with bridleways and footpaths at the end of the lane leading up on to Brighstone Downs. From here the Tennyson Trail can be followed to The Needles on the western tip of the Island or inland to Carisbrooke with its medieval castle. The cottage is only 1/2 mile from the village centre with public house for meals, bistro/tea shop, excellent village shop with local produce. The quiet beaches of Brighstone Bay are also nearby.

The Paper Barn occupies a delightful position on a lovely 12-acre farm, where horses are kept. The farm is surrounded by beautiful open countryside. It is a delightful walking area and visitors can follow footpaths over the Downs from close to the cottage.
The Paper Barn adjoins Squire Thatcher’s Barn and sits at the edge of a lovely grassy courtyard which is often adorned by ducks. On the other sides of the courtyard are the 18th century farmhouse, threshing barn and six stables, where horses are kept. The cottage has been sensitively converted from an 18th century Grade II Listed stone barn. It has been furnished and equipped with care and has attractive open views at the rear, across fields to the Downs. The accommodation is all on the ground floor and follows an open plan design, which gives the feeling of space. There is a light and pleasant sitting room with comfortable sofas, television, DVD and a hi-fi system. The floor in this area is attractively furnished with rugs over the original flagstones. There is a pleasant dining area and newly fitted kitchen with electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and washer/dryer. The cottage has two attractive bedrooms - one double and one twin room plus a bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. Travel cot/highchair can be provided. Electric heaters keep the cottage warm in colder weather. Heating and electricity are provided free of charge. The cottage has a wireless broadband internet (WiFi) connection available at a small extra charge.
There is a lovely terrace at the rear of Paper Barn with wonderful open views across the lawn and fields towards the downs. Garden furniture is provided. A barbecue is available on request, free of charge. The lawned garden has a small pear tree and is a delightful place to relax. The Paper Barn is only a 10-minute walk from the lovely rural village of Newchurch, which has a good public house for meals. The sandy beaches of Sandown and Shanklin are a 10 minute drive away. The market town of Newport is within a 15 minute drive. Parking spaces for two cars adjacent to the garden. Access to the cottage is along a private lane which is bumpy in places. Rural bus service ¼ mile.
Paper Barn has ground floor accommodation and is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided at a charge of £12.00 at Paper Barn. Paper Barn is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Saturday to Saturday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 15:00 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from 13th April 2018 to 26th April 2018 and 27th October 2018 to 20th December 2018.

Sandown to Newchurch Cycle Track - A flat cycle track runs from Sandown to Newchurch and passes close by. You can easily cycle to the beach at Sandown or head inland towards Newport where there are routes peeling off to Godshill, Wroxall, Cowes and most of the rest of the Isle of Wight. Local nature reserve - Alverstone Mead and the SSSI of Alverstone Marshes are within a short walk of Borthwood. Join the cycle track at Alverstone and head towards Sandown. You will cross the reserve along the way.
