Visitors can walk down for a swim, in Freshwater Bay, in less than 5 minutes.

This picturesque thatched cottage is very attractively situated, in peaceful surroundings overlooking Pound Green, on the outskirts of Freshwater. It is within a 15 minute walk of Freshwater Bay and Totland Bay. The sandy cove of Colwell is also nearby. The centre of Freshwater is five minutes walk away. Here there are a small number of shops, a public house for meals and a leisure club with indoor swimming pool.

Lovely farm cottage with delightful rural views across lakes to the downs beyond. The picturesque farm is in a wonderful cycling and walking area with direct access to a network of cycle paths, footpaths and bridleways, and private access to the Stenbury Trail which ultimately extends from Cowes to the coast at Ventnor. The Tennyson Trail extending to the western tip of the island is also easily reached. The cottage has been furnished and equipped with care to a high standard and offers charming accommodation in beautiful surroundings with ducks, swans and a huge variety of other wildlife including red squirrels as constant visitors. Horses are kept on the farm and trout fishing can be arranged. The central location of the cottage makes it an ideal base for touring the island.

The delightful Methodist chapel was built in the 1800’s and has been converted into a wonderful cottage. It stands on the outskirts of the pretty village of Brighstone on the south west coast of the island. The village is renowned for its lovely church, thatched cottages, village shops, National Trust shop, public house and teashop. Visitors can walk directly from the cottage and join footpaths to the beach at Chilton Chine (2 miles).

The Granary is a charming cottage, which has been carefully converted from the wing of a large ancient barn dating back to the 17th Century - Ningwood Green Barn. It is nestled in lovely peaceful West Wight countryside. This is a lovely walking area and is not too far from the coastal path.

Apple House is situated on the west side of the island, within a 10 minute walk of the beach at Colwell Bay. Here swimming, paddling, fishing and boating can be enjoyed. Totland Bay is also within easy walking distance. The coastal path from this area can be followed westward to Alum Bay, Tennyson Down and The Needles - a wonderful walking area with panoramic sea views. The centre of Freshwater is also within a 10 minute walk.

This charming stone cottage is situated on a lovely farm close to the picturesque village of Brighstone, on the west side of the Island. The cottage is only a mile from the coast and it is a pleasant walk across the fields to the sea. Here there is a beach where visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing and paddling. The sandy coves of Colwell Bay and Totland Bay are a short drive away.

This lovely detached bungalow has recently been refurbished to a very high standard with meticulous attention to detail. The property has attractive front and rear garden areas with care having been taken to provide guests with a variety of areas for relaxation, including a cosy summerhouse. In addition, a stunning raised terrace provides the perfect sunny setting for al fresco dining.

This is a picturesque thatched cottage in the peaceful village of Newbridge, at the heart of rural West Wight. It is situated in a country lane leading to a farm track and there is little passing traffic. Local footpaths lead to Shalfleet Creek and to the Tennyson Trail, from which there are spectacular views across the Solent and the South Coast.

Tennyson Wing is beautifully situated in a lovely rural location above Alum Bay and enjoys panoramic views of the nearby downs and across fields to the sea. This is a wonderful walking area within a two minute walk of Tennyson Down and a nearby footpath leads to the coastal path. Tennyson Wing is the first floor south west wing of a large detached property with a wonderful large terrace where meals can be enjoyed. It has two bedrooms - a twin room and a double bedroom with a king size bed and en-suite shower room; family bathroom; fitted kitchen; charming sitting room and dining area. Sea views from most main rooms. Only a short drive from several sandy coves on the west side of the island.

The south west coast of the Island, with its many quiet bays, is within a 10 minute drive and the market town of Newport, with its medieval castle, is also nearby. This pretty thatched cottage, with leaded light windows, stands in beautiful countryside, only a few minutes walk from Calbourne Water Mill. The cottage was designed by John Nash as a lodge for Westover Manor and is a Grade II listed building with wonderful grounds of 3.5 acres. This is a lovely walking area with footpaths very close to the cottage leading to Newbridge, Calbourne and to the downs above Brighstone, linking with the renowned Tennyson trail to Freshwater Bay.

The cottage is only 1/2 mile from the village centre with public house for meals, bistro/tea shop, excellent village shop with local produce. The quiet beaches of Brighstone Bay are also nearby.

Milton Stables is situated on the south west of the Isle of Wight within a 5 minute walk of Freshwater Bay and Tennyson Down. This is a wonderful walking and cycling area with easy access to the coastal path - a particularly beautiful route westwards to the Needles or eastwards to St Catherine’s lighthouse on the southern tip of the Isle of Wight. It is ‘An area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ with a variety of small coves where swimming, surfing, paddling and boating can be enjoyed as well as a 2 mile long sandy beach at nearby Compton Bay. There is a small general stores, tea shops and restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the cottage. A two minute drive also takes you to the town of Freshwater with supermarkets, and a variety of shops, inns and some restaurants plus a sports centre with gym and swimming pool.
This is a detached property situated in a small quiet crescent. As its name suggests it has been converted and extended from a Victorian stable block. The skilfully renovated building provides spacious accommodation with a light and airy feel. French doors open from the courtyard into a central hallway with stairs leading up to a double room with a king size bed and en-suite bathroom with bath, basin and WC plus a cosy sitting room with attic style sloping ceilings, two sofas and a wall mounted TV/Freeview/DVD player. On the ground floor there is a spacious open plan living room with a comfortable sofa and a central dining area beside French doors opening into the courtyard. The interconnected fitted kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and ceramic hob, microwave, sink, dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator and freezer. There is also a charming twin bedroom with flat screen television/Freeview, and wet room with shower, basin and WC on the ground floor. Travel cot/high chair available. Central heating and electricity provided without extra charge.
The cottage has a tiled courtyard style garden at the front of the property which is gated and fenced. Garden furniture is provided. There is space inside the gated courtyard to park one small car but this does involve a fairly tight manoeuvre. If you have a large car you may need to park in the road beside the stables. The courtyard is also more spacious without a car. A golf course within a 10 minute walk.
Milton Stables has ground floor accommodation and is a non smoking cottage. Milton Stables is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Friday to Friday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 15:00 and the normal departure time is 10:00.

The small town of Freshwater is located on the West of the Isle of Wight. The town has an inland part with shops and a seaside part called Freshwater Bay. The bay at Freshwater is known for its stunning beauty and because it makes a pleasant place to enjoy the sea and have a swim.
Freshwater has excellent access to the other coastal location on the West of the Isle of Wight and walks run along the coast in both directions. A walk to The Needles at Alum Bay is a pleasant way to see the dramatic coast. It is also possible to walk to Carisbrooke at the heart of the Island along the Tennyson Downs.

The ride starts in Freshwater Bay, joins a cycle track on the edge of Freshwater town going to Yarmouth.
