The cottage was everything we had been promised. It was well-equipped and there was a handbook with everything we needed to know about both the cottage and the area as well as numerous leaflets and suggested walks. It was clean and tidy when we arrived and there was even a pint of milk in the fridge as well as tea and coffee, which was very welcome after our long journey. The owners were not intrusive and we felt really at home in such lovely surroundings. The proximity to Godshill was a plus, as was the fact that it was central and therefore all attractions were within easy reach in the car. Thankyou for making our holiday stress-free. Our first visit to the Isle of Wight will definitely not be our last. Cottage Rating: 5 Stars

Our first visit to the Isle of Wight will definitely not be our last. Cottage Rating: 5 Stars

Audrey - Jul 2010

We loved the cottage, the farm and the lovely walk down through the trees and fields to Godshill which was a beautiful village - tiny, but so much to see. You could also walk to the village via the country lanes. The Isle of Wight is a lovely place to have a holiday, either just couples or families. We would certainly book through Island Cottages again. Thank you very much for helping to make our arrangements so simple. Cottage Rating: 4 Stars

To reach the Stenbury Trail from Godshill head out of town along the main road towards Shanklin before turning right after 200 yards onto the trail. Continue up the trail to the Freemantle Gate (photo of the Freemantle Gate) which you pass thought and follow the path which bears left across the fields towards Appuldurcombe and Wroxall. There is a wide flat cycle way that runs from Wroxall to Shanklin. The track starts below the old railway bridge in the centre of Wroxall.
