Delightful self catering cottage at Totland within a 12 minute walk of the sandy beaches of Colwell Bay and Totland Bay. This west side of the island is a wonderful walking area with easy access to the coastal path to The Needles and marvellous downland walks and bike rides. The centre of the small market town of Freshwater is within a 15 minute walk and this offers a good range of shops, public houses and restaurants plus a sports centre with indoor pool and a golf course with panoramic views. Romany Cottage is furnished and equipped to a high standard and an open fire in the sitting room and a wood burning stove in the dining area. These fires provide a lovely central focus in colder weather. In the warmth of summer three sets of french doors can be opened from the ground floor rooms into the garden giving the cottage a lovely open feel - the garden is a delightful protected spot to enjoy a barbecue and drinks in the sunshine.

The centre of Freshwater is also within a 10 minute walk.

Knighton Gorges occupies a wonderful position nestled in lovely East Wight countryside, in ‘An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. It has uninterrupted views across the beautiful Yar Valley to the Ventnor Downs. The house offers an oasis of peace, being a detached property with its own two acres of grounds and no near neighbours. The property dates back to the 17th century and used to form part of the buildings of the famous Manor House which once occupied the site.

This charming, Grade II listed cottage, is only a short drive from the sandy beach of Shanklin. It is peacefully situated in a quiet leafy hamlet in beautiful countryside, only 1.5 miles from the centre of the small seaside resort of Shanklin, on the east coast of the Isle of Wight. Shanklin has a lovely sandy beach which gently slopes into the water, a variety of restaurants, small shops and traditional seaside entertainments. The cottage has a lovely large sunny garden and is in a wonderful cycling and walking area. Footpaths and bridleways lead from close to the cottage to the coast at Shanklin and there is a particularly delightful walk across fields and downs to Ventnor offering panoramic views across Sandown Bay. The pretty village of Godshill is within a 5 minute drive and here there is good public house for meals, teashops and a hill top church.

This picturesque thatched cottage is very attractively situated, in peaceful surroundings overlooking Pound Green, on the outskirts of Freshwater. It is within a 20 minute walk of Freshwater Bay and Totland Bay. The sandy cove of Colwell is also nearby. The centre of Freshwater is five minutes walk away. Here there are a small number of shops, a public house for meals and a leisure club with indoor swimming pool. Another very good pub/restaurant,The Red Lion, is just 1 mile away. The cafe of the Farringford Hotel, once the island home of Tennyson, is within 5 minutes walk and there are several good restaurants in the nearby coastal town of Yarmouth, renowned for its sailing. This is a wonderful walking area with footpaths leading to Tennyson Down, the coastal path and The Needles - the most westerly point of the Island.
Little Halt is a detached Grade II listed cottage, dating back to the 1700’s. It has been renovated and equipped to a high standard, with great care being taken to retain the charm and original features of the cottage. The windows and pretty French doors leading into the garden are particularly attractive. It is furnished in a traditional country house style and is centrally heated. It has five bedrooms and provides very comfortable accommodation for ten people. Little Halt has a wonderful light, spacious and pretty sitting room with a flame effect electric stove and French doors opening onto a patio. This room is furnished with sofas and chairs, a television/Freeview/DVD.There is a second smaller sitting room furnished with attractive sofas and an area off this room has a sofa and second television/DVD/Video player, and is a good place for children to relax and play. There is an open plan dining area with French doors leading into the garden. The kitchen is well equipped with fitted units, an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, and dishwasher. Two fridge freezers, a washing machine and tumble dryer are also provided.
The bedrooms are all upstairs and can be accessed by two staircases There are three double bedrooms – one with a small en-suite shower room with W.C and one which is particularly attractive with windows overlooking both the front and rear garden. There is also an attractive twin bedroom and a spacious triple bedroom with 3 single beds. The cottage has one staircase which leads up to a double and twin room. The second staircase leads up to two double and one triple bedroom. On this side of the cottage there is the en-suite shower room and bathroom with bath, overhead shower and W.C. A connecting door between the triple bedroom and one of the double rooms can be unlocked to provide easy access between all the upstairs rooms. There is an additional bathroom on the ground floor with a bath, overhead shower and W.C. A folding bed can be provided for children to sleep in with parents if within maximum cottage numbers. Travel cot/high chair available. Heating and electricity at no extra charge. Please be aware that the open fires cannot be used. Telephone and WiFi internet connection provided.
Little Halt has beautiful gardens. At the front of the cottage there is a very pretty lawned garden with a white wicker fence and some lovely ancient trees, which give the cottage a picture box appearance. At the rear of the cottage is a spacious and secluded fenced garden with a wonderful patio area with garden furniture so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine. (Due to the risk of fire barbecues are not permitted). There is the protection of a large umbrella for use during hot weather. A small number of steps lead up to a large lawn with areas of shrubs. Here games can be played and visitors can relax. To the side of Little Halt is a drive, which leads to the rear of the property where there is parking for four cars. A gate leads from this area directly into the rear garden. Bus service and shop within 5 minutes walk. Arrival time from 4 p.m. Bookings are Friday to Friday.

The small town of Freshwater is located on the West of the Isle of Wight. The town has an inland part with shops and a seaside part called Freshwater Bay. The bay at Freshwater is known for its stunning beauty and because it makes a pleasant place to enjoy the sea and have a swim.
Freshwater has excellent access to the other coastal location on the West of the Isle of Wight and walks run along the coast in both directions. A walk to The Needles at Alum Bay is a pleasant way to see the dramatic coast. It is also possible to walk to Carisbrooke at the heart of the Island along the Tennyson Downs.
