The delightful Methodist chapel was built in the 1800’s and has been converted into a wonderful cottage. It stands on the outskirts of the pretty village of Brighstone on the south west coast of the island. The village is renowned for its lovely church, thatched cottages, village shops, National Trust shop, public house and teashop. Visitors can walk directly from the cottage and join footpaths to the beach at Chilton Chine (2 miles).

This pretty thatched cottage is attractively situated in the grounds of Gillmans House, close to the centre of Brighstone - a charming village with many thatched cottages, an ancient church, post office, public house and National Trust shop. The village is surrounded by beautiful West Wight countryside and is less than a mile from the beach and National Trust coastline. Behind the village are the Brighstone Downs. Footpaths can be followed from here that lead to the renowned Tennyson Downs and The Needles. The spectacular coastal views from these downs are breathtaking.

It is situated in the attractive courtyard and has marvellous open views from the rear across the fields to the downs. Stag Cottage is in one of the loveliest parts of the Island lying at the foot of Appuldurcombe Down and above the picturesque village of Godshill in ‘An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. Godshill can be reached by taking a pleasant stroll through the beech copse and across the fields. The village has a variety of tea shops and restaurants as well as two public houses.

The castle is only 5 minutes walk away and can be glimpsed from the garden and main bedrooms. This is a wonderful walking area as within 5 minutes walk of the cottage visitors can join the famous Tennyson Trail which follows the downs westerly towards The Needles.

This is a lovely walking area and footpaths lead from close to the cottage to the beautiful downs above Ventnor. Byre Cottage is only 1.5 miles from the centre of the seaside town of Shanklin with its wonderful sandy beach which is popular for swimming and paddling. The neighbouring seaside towns of Sandown and Ventnor are within a 10 minute drive.

It is a marvellous walking area with footpaths that can be followed directly from the cottage in most directions. There are particularly attractive walks along the course of the river Yar, to the picturesque village of Godshill and to the nearby village of Arreton which has a public house, farm shop and cafe for meals. The cottage is excellent for cyclists as there is access to a network of cycle paths directly from the farm and arrangements can be make for the storage of bikes. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are all within a 15 minute drive. Ferries can be booked for you at greatly discounted prices.

In the centre of the small rural village of Shorwell on the south west of the island and is only a 5 minute drive from a quiet beach at Brighstone. There are a variety of small sandy coves within a short drive where visitors can enjoy swimming, paddling, boating and fishing.

This pretty Swiss style cottage is situated in the lovely gardens of Ventnor Park. These gardens have sheltered lawns, well kept paths and excellent 18 hole putting green. Nearby footpaths lead up to high ground from where there are beautiful sea views. The sandy beach of Ventnor can be reached by taking a pleasant 5 minute stroll through the gardens and down to the esplanade. Footpaths also lead directly from the cottage to the quiet cove of Steephill and the Botanical Gardens.

Delightful self catering cottage at Totland within a 12 minute walk of the sandy beaches of Colwell Bay and Totland Bay. This west side of the island is a wonderful walking area with easy access to the coastal path to The Needles and marvellous downland walks and bike rides. The centre of the small market town of Freshwater is within a 15 minute walk and this offers a good range of shops, public houses and restaurants plus a sports centre with indoor pool and a golf course with panoramic views. Romany Cottage is furnished and equipped to a high standard and an open fire in the sitting room and a wood burning stove in the dining area. These fires provide a lovely central focus in colder weather. In the warmth of summer three sets of french doors can be opened from the ground floor rooms into the garden giving the cottage a lovely open feel - the garden is a delightful protected spot to enjoy a barbecue and drinks in the sunshine.

Driftwood Cottage is within a three minute walk of the beach at Brighstone, on the south west coast of the Isle of Wight – a quiet beach where swimming and paddling can be enjoyed. This is An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a particularly beautiful stretch of rural coastline. It is a delightful walking area with the nearby coastal path extending eastwards to Niton or to The Needles on the western tip of the island. The charming village centre of Brightone is a pleasant 15 minute walk inland and here there is a tea shop/bistro, a public house for meals, good general stores and a charming small museum and village church. From here there are some wonderful downland walks and cycle routes. Particularly attractive is the Tennyson Trail which links The Needles with Carisbrooke Castle, close to the centre of the Isle of Wight. There are a number of small coves with a short drive of the property including Freshwater, Totland and Colwell. Surfing can be enjoyed at Compton Bay and this is also a renowned area for fossils.

A car can be driven close to the rear cottage patio for ease of access at the time of arrival and departure. Bus service within a 15 minute walk. Farm shop within a few minutes walk. A small supermarket and a variety of smaller shops and public houses are in Freshwater – 10 to 15 minute drive. Larger shops and supermarkets can be found in the market town of Newport – 20 minutes drive. Nearby places to visit include The National Trust gardens of Mottistone, Blackgang Adventure Park & Yarmouth Castle. The sports centre at Freshwater has a swimming pool and fitness room and golf can be enjoyed on the nearby Freshwater Bay Golf Club.

Walking the Downs - Footpaths from Brighstone take you up onto the Down from which you can take a hill top walk to Freshwater Bay to the West or Carisbrooke to the East. The Down affords wonderful views of the Isle of Wight and some vantage points allow you to see almost the whole of the West side of the Isle of Wight. Alternatively, one can follow the coastal path from Brighstone and enjoy the dramatic coastline towards Alum Bay which takes in Brook and Freshwater Bay.
The ride starts in Freshwater Bay, joins a cycle track on the edge of Freshwater town going to Yarmouth. After seeing Yarmouth, with it's castle and boutique shops, the route continues to Totland and Totland Bay, where there is a beautiful beach, and on towards Alum Bay where we turn back towards Freshwater.
