Dairy Cottage is an attractive stone cottage enjoying rural views and with glimpses of Carisbrooke Castle from the master bedroom. The castle is within a 15 minute walk. The cottage is located at the heart of the Isle of Wight and within a short drive of the coast in any direction. Brighstone beach is within a 10 minute drive and the larger sandy beaches of Ventnor and Shanklin are within a 20 minute drive.

This lovely 17th century cottage is built of Island chalk and brick and enjoys beautiful views across nearby lakes and open countryside to Ventnor Downs. Parlour Cottage is situated on a lovely farm in beautiful South Wight countryside. It is a marvellous walking area with footpaths that can be followed directly from the cottage in most directions. There are particularly attractive walks along the course of the river Yar; to the picturesque village of Godshill and to the nearby village of Arreton which has a public house, farm shop and cafe for meals. The cottage is excellent for cyclists as there is access to a network of cycle paths directly from the farm and arrangements can be make for the storage of bikes. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are all within a 15 minute drive.

A wonderful beach front property beautifully situated on Ventnor Esplanade within a few steps of the beach where paddling, swimming, boating and fishing can be enjoyed. There are open sea views from the main rooms and a delightful large balcony overlooking the sea.

Dairy Cottage has ground floor accommodation and is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided free of charge at Dairy Cottage. Dairy Cottage is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Saturday to Saturday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 15:30 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from 28th October 2017 to 17th December 2017, 6th January 2018 to 8th February 2018, 17th February 2018 to 22nd March 2018 and 27th October 2018 to 20th December 2018.

Shockingly, mice-turds found on pillow cases ( no change of linen suggested).Keeping the log burner alight was difficult,this was admitted by the owner. Bedclothes and towels felt damp and cold.Wi-Fi is restricted - not advertised as such. The cottage itself is beautiful with great views. Bath/shower rooms were great. Cottage Rating: 2 Stars

Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight local attractions for a self catering holiday at Dairy Cottage

The villages of Carisbrooke is located at the heart of the Isle of Wight and is best know for the remains of Carisbrooke Castle which sits on the hill above the village. A small shop and a post office can be found in the village as well as a couple of public houses. A footpath runs from just outside the village all the way to Alum Bay in the far West of the Island.

Walking Trails around Carisbrooke

Tennyson Trail - The Tennyson Trail starts on the edge of Carisbrooke and runs all the way along the Downs to Freshwater Bay and then up to The Needles and Alum Bay. This spectacular trail is a substantial walk but there is a bus back to Carisbrooke from Freshwater and Alum Bay. Tennyson Trail

The centre of the Isle of Wight is best known for its historic monuments and beautiful countryside. The hills in this area are great for walking and exploring and paths fan out across the Isle of Wight. Carisbrooke, Bowcombe and Blackwater are found to the South and West of Newport. These small villages and Hamlets have unique access to all areas of the Isle of Wight and the sea is always less than 20 - 25mins away by car.

Specific Pet Policy for Dairy Cottage

Two dogs are welcome and the back garden is fenced and walled. Pets are not permitted upstairs, on the furniture or in the bedrooms. We also ask owners not to leave dogs on their own in the cottage and not to allow them to foul the garden. Puppies and also dogs with incontinence problems are not permitted without specific agreement. Please ensure that your pet's treatment for the prevention of fleas is up to date.
