This is a wonderful retreat standing amidst a large garden, adjacent to woodland and the wonderful estate of Osborne House – the Island palace of Queen Victoria. The Indian Summer House has a fascinating history. From the cottage quiet lanes and footpaths can be followed to the sea which is only a quarter of a mile away. There is easy access to Cowes which is built astride the River Medina - a small chain ferry links the two parts.

The sandy beach of Ventnor can be reached by taking a pleasant 5 minute stroll through the gardens and down to the esplanade. Footpaths also lead directly from the cottage to the quiet cove of Steephill and the Botanical Gardens.

Parlour Cottage is situated on a lovely farm in beautiful South Wight countryside. It is a marvellous walking area with footpaths that can be followed directly from the cottage in most directions. There are particularly attractive walks along the course of the river Yar; to the picturesque village of Godshill and to the nearby village of Arreton which has a public house, farm shop and cafe for meals. The cottage is excellent for cyclists as there is access to a network of cycle paths directly from the farm and arrangements can be make for the storage of bikes. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are all within a 15 minute drive.

Clatterford Coach House is situated in a small courtyard in the grounds of Clatterford House – a Grade 11 listed country house dating back to 1756. It stands in a peaceful rural hamlet, in the beautiful valley of Bowcombe, on the outer edge of Carisbrooke. This is a marvelous walking and cycling area with footpaths and quiet lanes leading to the castle and to nearby downs to join the Worsley Trail and the Tennyson Trail which extends to The Needles on the western tip of the Isle of Wight. The large sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are only a 20 minute drive away. There is also easy access to the quiet small coves on the west side of the Isle of Wight. The cottage is in a lovely central position on the Isle of Wight which makes it ideal for touring.
The cottage has been converted from the original stables and coach house of Clatterford House. It now provides attractive and comfortable accommodation for 5 people in 3 bedrooms. The cottage is centrally heated and has been furnished and equipped with care. On the ground floor there is a spacious open plan kitchen equipped with a gas cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer. There is an attractive circular table where meals can be enjoyed. A door opens from here into an attractive sitting room with comfortable sofas, an armchair, television/DVD/Freeview. French doors open from here into the courtyard. Stairs lead up from the sitting room to 3 lovely bedrooms – one pretty double room with large windows and half panelled walls, a spacious twin room and a single room. A wooden cot and high chair can be provided. There is a family bathroom with a bath, overhead shower, basin and W.C. Heating and electricity are provided without extra charge. Wifi internet can be provided.
Visitors can relax and enjoy meals in the enclosed courtyard at the front of the cottage and also have shared use of the beautiful larger gardens of Clatterford House. These gardens are carefully tended and are a wonderful example of a traditional country garden with large flower beds and areas of lawn where visitors can relax and enjoy a meal in the sunshine whilst admiring the beautiful open views across the water meadows to the downs. There are also delightful views of the nearby medieval castle of Carisbrooke. The garden is regularly visited by badgers and rabbits and a wide variety of birds including woodpeckers, finches, blue, great, and long tailed tits. Buzzards often fly overhead and in the valley white egrets and blue herons can frequently be seen as well as other water birds which are attracted by the nearby brooks. Sheep often reside in the surrounding fields. Visitors can stop to unload cars close to the cottage and there is parking for 3 cars in the drive at the front of Clatterford House which can be reached in less than a minute. Regular bus service within 5 minutes walk. General stores, two public houses and an Italian restaurant within 10 minutes walk. The centre of the market town of Newport is within a 30 minute stroll.
Clatterford Coach House is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided free of charge at Clatterford Coach House. Clatterford Coach House is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Saturday to Saturday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 14:30 and the normal departure time is 10:00.

The villages of Carisbrooke is located at the heart of the Isle of Wight and is best know for the remains of Carisbrooke Castle which sits on the hill above the village. A small shop and a post office can be found in the village as well as a couple of public houses. A footpath runs from just outside the village all the way to Alum Bay in the far West of the Island.
