The cottage has been furnished and equipped with care to a high standard and offers charming accommodation in beautiful surroundings with ducks, swans and a huge variety of other wildlife including red squirrels as constant visitors. Horses are kept on the farm and trout fishing can be arranged. The central location of the cottage makes it an ideal base for touring the island.

The Indian Summer House has a fascinating history. From the cottage quiet lanes and footpaths can be followed to the sea which is only a quarter of a mile away. There is easy access to Cowes which is built astride the River Medina - a small chain ferry links the two parts.

This charming cottage is nestled in the beautiful East Isle of Wight countryside, adjoining National Trust woodland, renowned for its carpets of bluebells and abundance of red squirrels. The cottage commands wonderful views towards the sea and Culver Cliffs as well as of the Ventnor Down. Visitors have the freedom to enjoy over three acres of garden and private woodland. The sandy beach of Sandown is within a seven-minute drive.
Beaulieu Cottage has three pretty bedrooms upstairs - one double, one twin and one single room. The latter is reached by passing through the twin bedroom. On the ground floor it has an attractive and comfortable sitting room, with a flat screen television, Freeview/DVD ; a well equipped bathroom with bath, hand shower, basin and WC; a kitchen/breakfast room with attractive fitted units and a hard wood work top, an electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. A freezer and washing machine are also provided.
At each end of the cottage there is a sunny conservatory for relaxing and having meals whilst enjoying the beautiful views. Garden furniture is provided. Beaulieu Cottage has been attractively furnished with much care in a traditional style. Electric radiators keep the cottage warm. Heating and electricity free of charge. The cottage has a wireless broadband internet (WiFi) connection.
Beaulieu is one of two adjoining cottages and offers a lovely peaceful location for a holiday. (The adjoining cottage is only used as an occasional retreat by the cottage owner).There is no passing traffic and wild rabbits, red squirrels and woodpeckers are frequent visitors to the garden. Guests can enjoy lovely walks directly from the cottage by following the footpaths and bridleways through the woods to the villages of Alverstone and Newchurch or towards the coast at Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor. Cyclists are within a 5 minute ride of the cycle path at Alverstone which links with Sandown, Newport and Cowes. Keen fishermen may make arrangements to fish in the lake which is only a 10 minute walk along the lane. Private parking spaces available close to the cottage for two cars. Access to the cottage is along a gravel lane which is not suitable for low slung vehicles. Public house, food store and public transport within 15 minutes walk. Smoking and pets are not permitted.
Beaulieu Cottage is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided at a charge of £12.00 at Beaulieu Cottage. Beaulieu Cottage is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Saturday to Saturday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 14:30 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from 17th February 2018 to 22nd March 2018 and 27th October 2018 to 20th December 2018.

Borthwood stands just inland of Sandown on the East of the Isle of Wight. There are good connections with the coast and Sandown and Shanklin as well as Bembridge, Seaview and St Helens are all within a short drive. Well worth a visit and a short walk around is Borthwood Copse which is known for its ancient Oaks and sweet chestnuts. Red Squirrels are also often spotted here at at certain times of the year the ground is carpeted in bluebells.

Sandown to Newchurch Cycle Track - A flat cycle track runs from Sandown to Newchurch and passes close by. You can easily cycle to the beach at Sandown or head inland towards Newport where there are routes peeling off to Godshill, Wroxall, Cowes and most of the rest of the Isle of Wight. Local nature reserve - Alverstone Mead and the SSSI of Alverstone Marshes are within a short walk of Borthwood. Join the cycle track at Alverstone and head towards Sandown. You will cross the reserve along the way.
