This traditional stone cottage stands at the far end of West Street, a peaceful lane less than five minutes walk from both open countryside, and the historic castle and central square of the picturesque village of Corfe Castle. The attractive square is a lovely spot with a number of shops - these include a National Trust gift shop, a local bakers for wonderful breads, cakes and lunchtime rolls, and a traditional sweet shop; plus public houses and a number of tea shops and restaurants. There is a steam railway linking the village to the nearby seaside resort of Swanage which is renowned for its sandy beach and beautiful bay. The resort has traditional seaside amusements and a variety of restaurants and cafes, plus a Victorian pier, diving school, fishing trips and boat rides. The miles of sandy beach at Studland are completely unspoilt and are also within a ten-minute drive. Wyncott is an old Grade II listed property which has been furnished and equipped to a high standard to provide comfortable accommodation for six to seven people in four bedrooms. The cottage has been in the same family for several generations and has recently been renovated with great care to retain the essential character of the cottage, but at the same time provide for modern needs. The cottage has original wooden beams, an ancient fireplace, and both flag stone and timber floors combined with fitted carpets, a fully fitted kitchen and stylish bathroom/shower rooms.

On the ground floor there is charming sitting room with a large sofa, arm chairs and pretty window seat, and a wood burning stove set within an inglenook fireplace, plus a television with Freeview and DVD player; a second conservatory style sitting area with French doors opening into the garden; an open plan fitted kitchen with wooden units, an electric cooker, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer; separate utility area with a washing machine; an open plan dining area with French doors opening on to an attractive paved terrace; a bathroom with bath, overhead shower, basin and WC; a single bedroom with a pull out bed beneath and fitted wardrobe.

Stairs lead up to three further bedrooms; a spacious master bedroom with a king-size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and beams; a second double bed in a gallery-style room with large windows overlooking the garden and towards the Purbeck Hills, and a wonderful window seat offering a peaceful spot to relax with a book; plus a single room. On this floor there is also a shower room with a large built in shower with a fixed ceiling rainhead shower, basin and WC. Visitors should be aware that the cottage stairs are fairly steep, and on the landing there are different levels. These levels are highlighted by special sensor-controlled lighting at night-time. Central heating and electricity is at no extra charge. A travel cot and high chair can be provided. WiFi internet is available.

Wyncott Cottage has a spacious and secluded south-west facing garden at the rear of the cottage. Lovely cottage. Lovely garden. Perfect location in Corfe, really quiet but so near shops, attractions, eateries and footpaths. Plenty of room and well equipped. We didnt expect it for this type of rental but there was milk, bread, butter, tea and biscuits left for us. Very helpful to have parking for two cars outside. This modernised but still older style cottage in parts, yes I'm talking about the slightly difficult top step and landing, would suit anyone looking for a lovely and peaceful location in a village which has views, walks, a bakery and first rate local shop just minutes walk away. We loved it here, helped by being able to sit out in the lovely gardenRead more which made our week. We've made a few suggestions eg about better light screening at bedroom windows and bathroom shower update but see you in 2024! Hide

Excellent property all round, which suited our family group of 6 adults well. I can't remember what the brochure details said but if it wasn't mentioned, the steep twisting staircase might not be for everyone. Location very quiet and out of the busy village centre, yet within easy walking distance of it.

Lovely property in a great location. We had very pleasant stay at Wyncott Cottage and in particular enjoyed the garden and the convenient location for day trips out with Corfe Castle on the doorstep. We would be happy to stay here again.

Lovely cottage in a great location with lots of walks and plenty of history on the doorstep. There is a cute private garden with comfortable garden furniture and a lovely sun room at the rear of the cottage. The very sunny rear kitchen was both pleasant to cook and also eat in. Quirky cottage in quiet spot, 10 minute walk to centre of lovely Corfe village. Ideal for visiting Isle of Purbeck and further west. Comfy beds, well equipped. Stairs could be a problem, not only steep but a twist at the top. Parking tight for 2 cars. We love Dorset!
