This traditional stone cottage stands at the far end of West Street, a peaceful lane less than five minutes walk from both open countryside, and the historic castle and central square of the picturesque village of Corfe Castle. The attractive square is a lovely spot with a number of shops - these include a National Trust gift shop, a local bakers for wonderful breads, cakes and lunchtime rolls, and a traditional sweet shop; plus public houses and a number of tea shops and restaurants. There is a steam railway linking the village to the nearby seaside resort of Swanage which is renowned for its sandy beach and beautiful bay. The resort has traditional seaside amusements and a variety of restaurants and cafes, plus a Victorian pier, diving school, fishing trips and boat rides. The miles of sandy beach at Studland are completely unspoilt and are also within a ten-minute drive. Corfe Castle sits at the centre of the Isle of Purbeck which offers a variety of scenic coastal and country walks.

Wyncott is an old Grade II listed property which has been furnished and equipped to a high standard to provide comfortable accommodation for six to seven people in four bedrooms. The cottage has been in the same family for several generations and has recently been renovated with great care to retain the essential character of the cottage, but at the same time provide for modern needs. The cottage has original wooden beams, an ancient fireplace, and both flag stone and timber floors combined with fitted carpets, a fully fitted kitchen and stylish bathroom/shower rooms.

On the ground floor there is charming sitting room with a large sofa, arm chairs and pretty window seat, and a wood burning stove set within an inglenook fireplace, plus a television with Freeview and DVD player; a second conservatory style sitting area with French doors opening into the garden; an open plan fitted kitchen with wooden units, an electric cooker, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer; separate utility area with a washing machine; an open plan dining area with French doors opening on to an attractive paved terrace; a bathroom with bath, overhead shower, basin and WC; a single bedroom with a pull out bed beneath and fitted wardrobe.

Stairs lead up to three further bedrooms; a spacious master bedroom with a king-size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and beams; a second double bed in a gallery-style room with large windows overlooking the garden and towards the Purbeck Hills, and a wonderful window seat offering a peaceful spot to relax with a book; plus a single room. On this floor there is also a shower room with a large built in shower with a fixed ceiling rainhead shower, basin and W.C. Visitors should be aware that the cottage stairs are fairly steep, and on the landing there are different levels. These levels are highlighted by special sensor-controlled lighting at night-time. Central heating and electricity is at no extra charge. A travel cot and high chair can be provided. WiFi internet is available.

Wyncott Cottage has a spacious and secluded south-west facing garden at the rear of the cottage. The cottage was well equipped. Parking would be a bit difficult with two large cars. The shower was good.

Such a bright and welcoming cottage in a perfect location, away from the busier parts of Corfe Castle. We enjoyed having meals in the garden and evening walks on the common and along local footpaths. I really liked sitting in the little snug/conservatory room, away from the TV! Beds were super comfortable and the cottage had everything we needed. A great cottage in a lovely location. Milk in the fridge and biscuits on arrival are a nice touch. The cottage has everything you need for a self catering holiday and the housekeeper is really helpful. A lovely garden for sitting out in too and enjoying the weather.

Absolutely fabulous property in a perfect location. Only small things we couldnt find but would find useful were placemats as we heat plates to eat off, some smaller serving spoons, and a larger airing rack. Other than that, we had a fab time there. Thank you!

Lovely characterful cottage. The village and castle are close enough to walk to easily, but the cottage is in a very quiet road and close to Corfe Common with easy access to many public footpath walks. Wyncott Cottage in Corfe Castle is the perfect Dorset cottage in a perfect Dorset village: comfortable but unpretentious, excellent beds and bedding and nice enclosed garden. Ideally situated for exploring the area and within short walk of shops and pubs.As a bonus, an iconic ruined castle as a constant backdrop.
