Willow Cottage is situated in Langton Matravers - a picturesque village amidst the beautiful Purbeck Hills. This is a wonderful walking and cycling area, with easy access to the World Heritage Jurassic coastline. Footpaths lead almost directly from the cottage to the coastal path. Bird watching, climbing and diving are popular in the area. Visitors also have direct access across National Trust fields to nearby woodland and can follow footpaths along the valley to the historic village of Corfe Castle, with its castle ruins, thatched cottages, teashops and steam railway. The sandy beach of Swanage is a five-minute drive away and here swimming, paddling and boating can be enjoyed. A village shop and public house are within a five-minute walk.

Willow Cottage stands at the end of a peaceful unmade lane. The cottage is centrally heated and provides comfortable accommodation for five to six people in three bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a combined kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is equipped with fitted units, Purbeck stone work tops, a ceramic sink, an electric fan oven and hob, dishwasher, and refrigerator. The adjoining utility area houses a washing machine, freezer and microwave. There is a wet room with underfloor heating, a shower, basin and WC. A cosy sitting room has sofas and chairs, a wood burning stove, and a flat screen television with DVD player and Freeview. There is also a single bedroom, suitable for someone requiring all facilities on the same level.

Stairs lead up to a double bedroom with a sea view, and a shower room with a built-in shower, basin and WC. Further stairs ascend to the third floor where there is an attic-style twin bedroom. An additional bed can be provided on the landing area from which the twin room is accessed. Central heating and electricity are provided at no extra charge. A travel cot can be provided if required.

There is a small garden opposite the cottage with a table and chairs, and a private parking space for one car. An hourly bus service links Langton Matravers to Swanage, Corfe Castle, Wareham and Poole. Willow Cottage adjoins Swift Cottage and can be rented in conjunction with this other property. Larger parties may be interested to know that the adjoining Swift Cottage can be rented in combination with Swift cottage to sleep an additional six or seven people. An extension to the dining table is available in Swift Cottage to enable 12 people to eat together.

Warm and cosy. Very well equipped kitchen. Efficient central heating. Friendly owner lives nearby and was readily available to make our stay extra special. Steep staircase that might be a challenge for someone with limited mobility. The top floor twin room has a large landing just outside the door which was perfect for my 10month old granddaughter.Read mores cot. Combi boiler provides hot water on demand. Wood burning stove was very enjoyable. Great location. Will plan to stay again next year. Hide

Willow Cottage is a hidden gem! Plenty of room for a family of five, although there were only two of us! It had everything we could possibly need during the week. Sue came to greet us from next door when we arrived. There are walks from the door, and the cottage is close to all the wonderful places to visit in Dorset. We visit the area regularly, aRead morend Willow Cottage will be my first place to check for availability. Hide

Cosy and well equipped ... but the stairs are narrow and fairly steep, so visitors of reduced mobility might find them a problem.

Would definatly reccomend Willow Cottage. It's a great little cosy cottage and it's supperbly placed with access to lots of walks along the South West coast path and numerous other footpaths and bridleways (such as Priest's Way to Swanage and Worth Matravers). The owners live next door and are friendly and helpful. When the kettle stopped working iRead moret was immediatly replaced with a new one! Lovely light kitchen with everything you need. Comfortable sitting room with great log burner. Excellent. Hide

Sue was a very friendly & nice owner. The location was fantastic, very quiet & still had quick & easy access to plenty of sites. 5mins drive to shops & the ocean front in Swanage. The cottage is hidden away from the main street with a parking spot just in front of the house. Nice, little features & touches.
