Mews cottage offering comfortable accommodation for four guests, enjoying a central yet quiet location in the popular seaside town of Ryde on the Isle of Wight’s north coast.
This two-bedroom cottage in Ryde in in the largest holiday resort on the island, often referred to as The Gateway to the Isle of Wight. With its prominent position on the coast and quick easy links to the mainland, which by Hovercraft and Fast Cat passenger ferries is a 10-20 minute crossing, it is convenient for those without personal transport as there are also nearby bus services to all parts of the island and a train service to Shanklin. West View is in Church Lane, a quiet road opposite the all-weather tennis club, very central to the town, four minutes from the sea and close to miles of sandy beaches. The abundance of attractions of Ryde are minutes away including the long esplanade with views across the Solent and here, there is a marina, parkland, gardens, all weather swimming pool, boating lake, ten pin bowling centre, a bowling green and a sandy beach. There is a wide selection of places to eat which cater for all tastes and budgets, an array of interesting shops, as well as supermarkets, a Victorian Arcade, cinema and much more.
West View is a mews cottage built in 1850 and has been extensively modernised to offer a comfortable base for your holiday. The cottage is centrally heated for comfortable all year stays. The sitting room has French windows opening to the patio garden and is furnished with a leather three-piece suite, coffee table, and television with DVD player. There is a well-stocked collection of books and DVDs to enjoy during those relaxing times after a busy day out. The open-plan kitchen and dining area is fitted with Queen Anne range kitchen units and an oak table with four chairs. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, deep freezer, large capacity washer/drier, microwave, oven, gas hob and electric fan assisted oven.
The two bedrooms have fitted wardrobes with plenty of storage. Each room has two full-size twin beds which can be pushed together if desired, plus bedside table and lamps. Towels and bed linen are provided without extra charge. There is also a radio/cassette player and hair dryer. The bathroom is equipped with a bath, overhead electric shower, vanity unit with mirror, shaving point, WC and fan. It has views over the tennis courts to the sea.
The patio garden is fully enclosed and a great sun trap. It can be accessed from the sitting room and kitchen and has a table, chairs and umbrella. It is a wonderful spot to enjoy your meals or maybe just a drink. There is also a covered area providing safe storage of bikes etc. The Fishbourne car, ferry port is within a ten-minute drive of the cottage. The nearest public car park has a pedestrian exit into Church Lane and the cottage is only fifty feet away. Parking is free from 6pm until 8am. There is a charge for parking outside of these hours, but a Tourist Parking Permit can be purchased which covers all council owned car parks and metered on road parking across the island.
Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.
