This charming stone cottage can be found in the peaceful hamlet of Roud, a delightfully rural location. It has a wonderful large garden and is only a short drive across to the seaside town of Ventnor, a great place for beaches and boating trips, or the local village of Godshill has gorgeous tea shops, public houses, restaurants and independent shops to enjoy.

Two Elm Cottage is one of a pair of cottages - the adjoining cottage One Elm Cottage sleeps an additional 5+1 guests and is also available to be booked for holidays. With traditional country-style interiors, this cottage has maintained much of its original charm and traditional features. On entering the property, three steps lead down to a lovely dining room with a door opening into the garden. The delightful kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer. Down the hall is a separate utility area with a washing machine and tumble dryer and a shower room with WC. There’s a large sitting room with windows overlooking the lovely garden, comfortable seating, a wood burning stove and a large TV allow for cosy evenings together. It sleeps six guests between three bedrooms, there’s one double, one twin and a bunk bedroom with room for an adult on the lower bunk if required. There’s a shared bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and WC.

A gate leads into a fenced front garden and there’s a large back garden with space to run around and play in the open space. Lovely trails for walking and cycling run all over the local area. Off-road parking for one car available on the shared sloping driveway.

I would not hesitate to book again or recommend to friends, esp those who like remote locations. There was plenty of room, garden was suitable for dogs and the house was very comfortable. This was our second stay in this house and we would happily return. First class stay, ideal for my 90 year old Mother who was able to use the walk in shower downstairs. Fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds and spotlessly clean and warm. Highly recommend. Our Poodle loved the safe garden. We had a stormy few days but having this cosy cottage to come home to was great. A lovely place to stay no matter what time of the Read moreyear. Hide

We had a lovely, relaxing holiday and would stay here again. We had 1 issue and it was dealt with immediately. Garden is large and ideal for my dog and the surrounding countryside was beautiful.

We loved the really quiet location of this cottage.It was very comfortable and very spacious for the two of us and our dog.Lovely pubs nearby in Godshill and Niton for dinner in evenings.

Such a wonderful location; quiet and relaxing. We stayed over the Christmas week and the cottage was made so Christmassy with a real Christmas tree such a treat! The goodies and milk left for us was such a treat. We cant fault the property, it was so cosy, warm and spacious. We managed to walk to the local pub in Godshill (With children) and it waRead moresnt too far. Some excellent walks around the property for us and the dog. Wonderful holiday. Hide

We stayed at this property last year and was very pleased however this year the overall standard had dropped which was disappointing.Little things we had to go out and buy next day such as dish clothes and tea towels.

The facilities and cottage were more than we could have expected. This was our first time renting a cottage and we were blown away by it. So peaceful, relaxing, and very well fitted out Booked again for two weeks next year.

2 Elm Cottages is a well presented, peaceful property with a large garden which suited our dog very well. Located in a quiet area yet very close to major attractions that are easily accessible by car.

This was the 15th annual walking weekend with my sister /sister in law & Elm cottage was one of the best we have stayed in. It was a real home from home, so cosy, clean & well equipped with a beautiful garden & great position for getting around the island. Would love to return.
